@stang-aholics Жыл бұрын
We recommend using a low tension spring set (which we offer on our website). You can also use no springs with a prop rod or a gas strut that is designed to be used with a light weight fiberglass hood.

Have you ever had any breakages of the rear arm or mounting , it looks from the video as the inner mount moves around a bit , if this is your thrash car do regular checks, if you get a lot of rear end vibration from hard acceleration, it will cause cracks in mounts etc. Cheers

Why do these have to have the factory latch? How do I find real hood pins that don't need the latch to work
@simbanugz29062 жыл бұрын
I can't count how many people over the years that complained about they didnt make much difference then stock, for me to point out you have to wire all 4 wires to the sub both positives and negatives together on the single subwoofer connection . Them i would have to fix it for them, They make a huge difference if your into lower bass. Everyones chirping you need a amp, its fine on stock amp. Could it use a amp to make more power ? Sure it could. I prefer the stock no hassle look, plus the speakers wont be pushed to hard so they last a long time
@MS07B3-G0UF2 жыл бұрын
So you used both sets of wire with no issues?
@simbanugz29062 жыл бұрын
stock are 1.8ohm dvc, i believe these are around 2-2.4 ohm. I've installed a pair it does not get as loud as the stock speaker, but the quality of the bass is night and day difference. What this video doesn't address is the horrible door rattle you will have, dyna matt piece around subwoofer are a must to stop rattling. I believe the stock amps are good for like 40 watts rms, because its a higher ohm the subs will have less power. I believe they get around 30-35 watts rms
@gdb54483 жыл бұрын
Seriously, unless you're going to run aftermarket amplifiers just changing the speakers is a big waste of money...
@captaincobra45783 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind the stock amps are 2ohm resistance and most subs are 4. Either upgrade the amp or get 2ohm subs, or it’s going to be even quieter
@gpittel Жыл бұрын
Yes… and the guy at my local shop Said the regular deep subs won’t fit. And I think he is wrong about that? Do I need to get the “shallow” woofer? From the looks of this video you can use normal sized woofers. I can get anything I want as long as they are 8’ and 2 ohms in the 60watt range. Am I correct with all this? Cuz I already returned a pair on Amazon today that were 4ohm 😤😂 I’m getting so confused
@captaincobra4578 Жыл бұрын
@@gpittel turns out they aren’t even 2 ohm. They are 1.4 ohm. The only thing I can think to replace them with are OEM ford woofers. I simply disconnected mine and ran a new under seat subwoofer and I’m happy with it cause the plastic doors don’t rattle now

These subs are PERFECTLY designed for the Shaker 500 door enclosures. Unfortunately they are NOT perfectly designed for the Shaker 500 wiring and amplification, stock is 1.2 ohms. I've had 2 sets of these, in my Mustang from many years ago and currently in my 06 Roush. To get what you want out of them, you will have to amplify them. Luckily, Ford made it easy since there is a dedicated output on the back of the Shaker head unit. These are 4 ohm subs rated at 200 watts each. I have a little more running to them and they sound fantastic.
@jzman63303 жыл бұрын
Don’t bother, 2007 GT stock subs work better than this. I have Shaker500 and they are horrible unless you’re going to add an amp. The whole system upgrade isn’t worth it. Installed 4 6x8 kickers and 2 8 woofers, the price and time aren’t worth it.

It’s possible to do anything pretty much, but if you want an easy plug-n-play install it’s something you will have to look into more. You might have to get a new head unit because the current one may be underpowered.

I am wondering if these work well using power from the stock 500 shaker stereo... I do not want to add an amp.
@chunkiehunk52014 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeremy, I've installed these in 2 of my mustangs and I love them. With that being said, they don't run well off of the factory shaker amplifiers. The factory speakers are dual voice coil with a final load of 1.2 ohms and these are single voice coil 2 ohms. With double the resistance, they only get half of the power from the factory amplifiers. They will sound "ok" but benefit dramatically from amplification. In my current 06, I have each of them running at 220 watts RMS and they sound terrific, can't praise them enough. Long story short, you may be disappointed by adding them without also adding an amplifier.
