Imo the biggest issue is that thy threw a lot lore accuracy and existing world building out the window for the sake of inclusivity and making this show unique. I Enjoy Star Wars media and I watch everything without much criticism. I didn’t have any issues with the sequels like a lot of people. I feel and I think a lot of other fans feel that there’s just better ways they could’ve went about building up these characters to be more likable then they did.

I appreciate you sharing thoughts respectfully! My one pushback against the point about inclusivity is that I don’t think the show is any better or worse if the characters identities are changed. I don’t believe that’s true and if that’s the case, to me, it doesn’t matter who the characters are. I do agree though that they should have done a much better job building up these characters, absolutely. Thanks for sharing bc your thoughts!!

@@AccessBlockbusters one point I see being made is not that the characters identities hurts the lore. It’s that the creation of osha and Mae being children of the force negatively impacts the birth of Anakin as the chosen one being that he was created to bring balance. I think the community would’ve been fine if they had just found a way around this.

I see what you’re saying - I’d counter with a couple points. One, which is related to the video as a whole, is that we haven’t actually gotten an answer to how they were born and what they are! So yes, they may be a dyad or born in the same way as Anakin but we simply don’t know that yet. And two - even if they were born and conceived of in the same way, to my knowledge, there’s nothing in continuity that says that Anakin is the chosen one BECAUSE of how he was born. I personally don’t think it diminishes him at all in the story and in the lore - just my thoughts!

I certainly hope not - while I agree it’s at a low point, people are quick to forget the backlash that happened after the prequel trilogy. It may be at a low point now but it can always , always rebound!

It’s just bad writing. It’s doubly rough that Disney chose to butcher a show with the prestige Star Wars has. For the writers to disregard timelines that George Lucas put hours in to get right, I really am bummed out about it. I honestly just have to ignore everything Disney has done with it because they discredit themselves.

I’d agree the writing has been the weakest part of a lot of these shows, as well as their overall stories, but I’d be curious to hear where you think they’ve been messing with the timeline? The Ki-Adi Mundi debate doesn’t seem like it holds a lot of weight and I think they’ve stuck to canon for the most part. I also think it’s worth remembering that Lucas himself broke his own canon many times (R2D2 being around for the prequels and then not knowing anything in the original trilogy, for example), so if it’s only minor things, I’m not as concerned. While I personally am not enjoying the show as much as I’d hope, I think it’s also a bit one sided to say there are only haters. The critical score is relatively decent and I went on social media immediately after episode 5 to see other people’s reactions and there was a LOT of positivity about the new episode. Just my observation though!

No, sorry. First impressions matter. The show has shown itself to be awfully written with uninteresting characters. No amount of glow stick waggling is going to save the bad dialogue and uninteresting plot. House of the Dragon is a show you have to be patient with. Not this.

I appreciate your thoughts. However, if you listened to my entire segment, then you’ll know I wasn’t necessarily speaking to those who didn’t like the show from the first four episodes. In fact, I explicitly say that if the show doesn’t work for you, you have every right (and likely should) to stop watching. This segment was me discussing how, for those of us including myself who were on the fence, the shows plot was structured around some revelations that hadn’t happened yet but I’d seen videos online that were making some wild assumptions. That’s all - thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

No. You shouldn’t have to wait 5 episodes for a show to have a well received episode. A slow burner is one thing but poor writing is another

As I mentioned in the segment, if you listened to the entirety of it, my point was not that if you hate the writing and the dialogue then you should bear with it at all costs because there’s a mystery. In fact, I say in the video that if the show doesn’t work for you, you should stop watching!! That’s totally fine - this video was more for people on the fence who are still watching but making assumptions about the plot (such as episode 3 being the only POV of the fire, for example). I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Like I said in the clip, if the first few episodes were not to your liking, then you have every right to stop watching! My point was less about that and saying that we should give it more time to get us to like it, and more about the story unfolding in a way that is non linear and people online jumping to conclusions that the plot was already revealed. Sorry to hear you didn’t like it!

I wouldn’t say the final nail but it is sad to see how divided the fandom is. I would agree that it’s pointing strongly to a character but who knows! They might surprise us!

The world building is cool, yes gotta be patient with that. It’s a mystery (like Episodes 1 and 2) so that also calls for patience.

Yeah - I think the nature of a story that isn’t finished means we should reserve our judgement (of the plot at least) until it’s unfolded, especially since this story isn’t revealing things in a linear way.

So, it means, universes like 838, tobey maguire spiderman, fox x men, all were formed only after the death of he who remains?

In a sense, I think so. I think these universe already existed, but they were being pruned by the TVA. Since all of this takes place out of time, the second that HWR dies, these universes come to exist in their entirety again - it's not like they start from year 0 and then begin, but they just reappear in their entirety. That's just my take though! It's a good question!!

One thing I think marvel should have done after phase3 is not do long saga.They should have one storyarc for each phase and they can do that now with the disney +shows to help with expanding the story arcs. Here's how I see it - Phase 4 FILLER PHASE:this phase would be more like a relauch that deal with the aftermath of the blip aswell as introduce new characters . And it would also establish mcu's new trinity(dr strange, black panther,capt marvel). - Phase 5 SECRET INVASION: - phase 7 MUTANT ARC - Phase 6 MULTIVERSE ARC Also I think they should have the special present turn into a serie where each épisode(10ep) putting the spotlight on a different characters

For me Kate and yelena are the best additions to the MCU at the moment and their chemistry together is ELECTRIC. This is my favorite MCU show just because of the two of them. They really need to focus on developing two of them together and separately

Chadwick’s death blindsided all of us because he was and still is the only superhero actor to pass away while in the role. As the audience we’re so used to these guys being larger than life, powerful beings in movies that when one prematurely died, we were reminded that they’re human just like us outside of film.
