Pro Tip: If you are fortunate enough to take it to the beach, once you park, remove the backseat and take it to the beach to sit on. Most comfortable beach chair you'll ever experience. Viva la Blue!

WONDERFUL VIDEO! Of those that really worth every minute watched! A detailed look at the car without a stupid talking head of a narcissistic millennial. A real lesson on how to make a perfect car video. Greetings from Brazil.

I had a copy of the last year of that model, a 76, which was identical save for the paint color, the front-grille pattern, and the tail-light pattern. Being that I had that car *in* 2002, I found it cool to imagine, if anybody asked me what car I had, I could tell them a 2002 BMW and would not be lying. 😅 There are, however, some technical nightmares of these cars that folks with interest need to know. First, unless you convert the distributor innards to electronic, you will have serious ignition problems. The distributor is of the old point-type design, which is actually very easy to tinker with when you need to as long as you have the tuning specs on hand...and the parts you need to replace, the latter of which is the crux of the problem. When servicing a points-type distributor, you need to replace two components at the same time: Point assembly and condenser. Part stores will have listings for points in their computers; they will *not* have condensers...and you cannot replace just one or the other; *both* need to be replaced at the same time. If you install new points but keep the old condenser, the new points will fry in very short order, becoming no better than the old points you replaced, perpetuating the ignition problems. Imagine trying to keep control of a car with a manual transmission that will stall out on you when you're coasting as high as 35 mph...or trying to keep it from stalling out at a stop intersection situated on an upgrade with traffic building up behind you. How do I know all of this, you may ask? I lived in San Antonio, TX, at the time I had that car, where roads are anything but flat and level. In retrospect, I may have been able to work around the condenser problem by possibly swapping in another condenser for another make of car, or to be daring, look into electronic conversion of the distributor...but I never put either theory to test, because of the *other* intrinsic problem with these cars. BMW at the time did not know very much about corrosion treatment. These cars apparently were notorious for rusting with a *vengeance,* not merely at the body panels but also at the critical structure points. My car rotted out both its rear shock towers. That was the last straw for me, as my automotive expertise does not include repairing terminal cancer in a car's structure.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party and Gretas FFF Inc. gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....:-((((
