Hi - we have just looked at this and there is sound. I suspect it may be a computer setting issue - hope that you enjoy it and thanks for flagging a potential issue.

Amazing video so helpful! Could you tell me the gap between completing the RYA Advanced Powerboat COC and Advanced Powerboat instructor?
@PowerboatTrainingUK9 ай бұрын
Hi. thanks for the message. To become an APBI you need to already be a RYA Powerboat Instructor and hold the Advanced Powerboat CoC. Assuming you are a PBI and have a good amount of teaching experience at PBI level then you should be well placed to undertake the APBI course. It’s often best to chat things through so contact us via the website and we can send you a more detailed email and then chat through things. Over the Sept - April period we run APBIs roughly 4 weekly. Regards, PTUK

Think this was the Atlantic 21. The Atlantic 75 had ballast in the bow that we could dump if not needed.

Thoroughly enjoyed mine! worked so hard for it and had a real opportunity to show someone that I really do know my stuff, a couple of mistakes on the practical side (had to re approach the dock) 3 knots of tide and a stiff cross wind made it a bit tricky. but it was managed in a way that it didn’t end up in panic and the assessor liked that i knew it wasn’t going well. Also on my night exercise I was using a starboard lateral as a bearing to know where to stop the boat, that evening the green light wasn’t working! Ended up having to find another marker further up the channel quickly on a paper chart, ended up being a better fix anyway. Amazing video, I hope people in my situation will watch all of it

Definitely needs more weight in the bow, but why use a rib in those conditions?

Hi thanks for the message. I think as a big ship person the qualifications that we offer are probably not suitable. We suggest that you have a look at Warsaw Maritime Academy as they are more focussed on that size of vessel

Is the Ribmaster just as recognized as the PBL2 when it comes to getting employed on yachts? Is one better than the other?
@PowerboatTrainingUK2 жыл бұрын
Hiya - it depends on the yacht and whether the yacht wants RYA quals or will consider IYT as an option. RYA tends to be the norm though

Top piece of parking. I'm going to have a go at that when I next go out, I can see the physics of it but just missed the throttle positioning (idle ahead/idle astern) as the RIB draws parallel and uses the final energy in the manoeuvre to slide sideways into the berth. That's what I love about boating, any (insert appropriate expletive here) can go fast but it takes real skill and awareness to be able to get the setup for parking and that was spot on.

Why are the lessons on a RIB when most learners will be buying a cuddy, bowrider or pilot house type craft!
@superhoop99195 жыл бұрын
phil ip I would imagine it’s because the vision is so much better on a rib. Makes it that bit easier for people to get the basics
