Can you do a full cover of Meltedthree? It’s my fav ktane song. Only instruments
@BrendanVavra9 күн бұрын
Maybe! I wasn't 100% happy with how I applied the "melted" effect on this track, so it would be an excuse to make that better. In the meantime, you can check out my instrumental-only version of this arrangement on my SoundCloud (link in description).

Found your video as suggested while looking for some Layton OST while working, then I thought "Sometimes I find hidden gem artists, I'm gonna take a look to this video maybe I'm gonna get a surprise" and OMG my jawn fall down to the floor literally. I took a look to your other videos and they are so great!!! You got a new sub, keep it up!!! 😄

Bach really works with every instrument. Nailed it!
@BrendanVavraАй бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, although the accordion wasn't around in Bach's time, the instrument is really just a portable organ so it works out pretty well. Also, the invention book where I got this music states that it's well within the Baroque spirit to adjust the way you approach a piece (articulation, tempo, etc.) to best fit the instrument playing it. :D

where'd you get that coat? i've been wanting to make layton costume for a while
@BrendanVavraАй бұрын
I got REALLY lucky and found the coat, pants, AND shirt all at the the same time at a local thrift store. The coat is actually a women's jacket, which oddly works because the added shoulder pads help mimic Layton's accented shoulders - the hard part was keeping the collar popped up during the puzzle shots... ...actually no, the REAL hard part was wearing the coat and accordion when it was 90°F.
@yomil-ek1pgАй бұрын
@@BrendanVavra lol, nice. though 90F does sound pretty hellish, lol. either way, thanks for the response, and fantastic cover!

While I was from Bastok, and my initial steps into the open world of my first MMO are tied to Gustaberg, I absolutely loved coming to Ronfaure. I would imagine that same nostalgic effect applies to those who started in San D'oria. There will never be another game like this.

Nice! Bach and accordions go very well together. And cool to see the free bass :) Those low notes on it always sounds so cool
@BrendanVavraАй бұрын
Thank you! I think the most challenging part of playing Bach on accordion is the phrasing since, unlike organ, the accordion needs to breathe at some point, and across all voices at once. And yeah, I love getting to hear the lower register in isolation, which none of my other accordions can do.

wowee zowee!!! what a rad arrangement that was clearly right up your alley. my brain can barely comprehend how people play guitar but a saw is just aaaaaaaa
@BrendanVavraАй бұрын
This was a fun project, but SUPER hard to get clean on the saw. I feel like bending the saw to get the right pitch is the easy part, compared to making sure you bow at the right position along the saw according to which pitch you're playing, and at the right angle and speed to both prevent horrendous screeching AND allow the note to sustain sufficiently. But I love the challenge and uniqueness of it - it's like an acoustic theremin!
