Sick Video and some great shots in there! You really raised the bar with the camera work, drone shots and music. I would be interested to know the efficiency of things between brands and maybe a super shoe compared to a daily trainer.

@@ZenithEndurance I’ve always been more of the fast twitch type but I’ll do short 8-10 second steep hill sprints year round. 15% on the treadmill at max 12mph usually does it. Complete rests in between. Once per week, usually the evening before long run days to help prime up the legs. Old school Lydiard stuff never seems to let me down.

Do you prefer this feel over Vaporfly or Adios Pro in terms of response? I prefer Metaspeed Sky v1 on short distances and Adios Pro 3 on Marathon but I don't know if Elite is "better" than this two...
@ZenithEndurance
@ZenithEndurance Жыл бұрын
Feels more similar to Adios Pro than Vaporfly. In my opinion, this is a "better" option that the other two for people with 1) wider feet or 2) flatter feet. Beyond the fit, I would 100% honestly say the difference in performance is minimal/non-existent between the three.

Yep the course markings weren't tight up against that barrier, so if they wanted to go up the incline a bit it was legal.

Yeah, the crowd control and course marking wasn't ideal. But for the runners there were hay barriers, muddy sections, gravel, some pretty sudden elevation gain and a short stretch on the track. Seemed like a lot of fun tbh.

Yooooo congratulations hey idk if u remember me but I asked u for some running advice and to be honest my life hasn’t been good. I had the flu but I went to my cross country meets anyways. I did horrible at meets and I had a toe fungus and a hip injury. The hip injury was the worst of all but I still kept running. Sadly I did not make it to sectionals or state. I hate my self for it. Last year I qualified for sectionals my goal this year was to make it to state I promised my friend I would. Never did… I feel hopeless right now tho I’m 13 years old I take running or any sports serious. I still kept running after my season which was good I ran last week. Which is the problem I have trouble waking up in the morning to run I stopped running lately. I hate it. I’m currently training for my track season any advice? Edit: I run before school to at 5 or 4am but have trouble getting out of bed

Hey Derrick, this is Bailey from Strava. Not sure if you’re looking for this kind of advice or not, but one thing I noticed looking through your peak long runs on Strava is that the elapsed time is usually 5-10 minutes longer than the moving time. One thing my college coach emphasized for me while I was training for a marathon (that unfortunately got cancelled) was to minimize breaks on the long run as much as possible. It teaches the body to work through peak fatigue without relying on rest time to bounce back. This might be why you’ve had some struggles around the 18-20 mile mark in your races, your body may be used to taking breaks when it feels it needs them. Again, sorry if you aren’t looking for this kind of advice but it’s just one thing I’ve noticed. It’s only a matter of time before you have a breakthrough, you have the dedication and work ethic for it!
@ZenithEndurance
@ZenithEndurance 2 жыл бұрын
That's the unfortunate side effect of not having a bike/coach along the way to hand off liquid maurten on long runs. Certainly not ideal, but minimizing water/nutrition breaks is front of mind.
@bvandegriend8744
@bvandegriend8744 2 жыл бұрын
@@ZenithEndurance Definitely. One thing I tried to do when I didn't have someone to hand me gels/water was set it up somewhere I could loop back towards, like having my water bottle and a few gels at my car. Then I'd run a loop of however long I wanted to go before my next planned nutrition/water stop and I'd try to pick it up and take the water/gel while still running around next to my car, then dropping it back off at my car and repeating this for the entirety of the run. So if I planned to take nutrition every 5 miles I'd run the same 5 mile loop however many times I needed to with the water and nutrition back at the start. This might not always work depending on location/route but I think it could be helpful

First thing is listen to your coach, do the workouts they prescribe as well as the little things like strength, mobility etc... but most importantly at your age, have fun, make friends, enjoy it. Then just don't stop. Keep running, week after week, month after month, year after year. If you keep running, your strength and speed will come in time. Running improvement is very incremental, keep at it!
