Absolutely. I love what Edison motors is all about. Helping my father Wash either of his two Kenworths every day for 10+years while I was growing up as a young boy I remember once asking. “Dad why do we have to clean the truck if it’s going to just get dirty again” he replied “son we don’t have to wash the truck every day just like you don’t have to brush your teeth every day. If you don’t, your teeth will fall out. As much as you enjoy going to the dentist, I enjoy working on keeping these trucks running.” Washing the trucks was a tiny fraction of what it took for him to be a successful owner operator. The countless hours he would spend repairing or replacing the inevitable worn out parts. He would do everything in his power to do it himself before taking his trucks to Inland Kenworth. Yet my dad was supposedly just a truck driver. If anyone thinks they can buy a truck cause they can operate it and be successful, you’d better be a good mechanic as well. Cause driving it is the easy part. My dad’s 94 Kenworth had over a million kilometres in the bush by the time he sold his business and it still looked and worked as if it was brand new. Edison Motors knows what it takes. It’s not easy. So why complicate the every day grind of being an owner operator with ridiculous manufacturing parts that aren’t reparable. Only to be replaced at an outrageous cost causing downtime waiting for shipping on cheap replacements of specialized parts that only fit a particular model or year that it was manufactured while it’s a failure on a part that shouldn’t even wear out. It is criminal. The amount of moving parts that will inevitably need to be replaced due to wear and tear is enough work that these people will endure. Edison Motors my hats off to you for developing a product with the mindset of right to repair, in this industry that every single human being on this planet relies on. Great Job!!!

@HOMESTEAD_OPERATOR3 күн бұрын
@bthekid82 so it turns out the lifters were fine it was the rollers in the rockers that were slightly different and holding the valves open just a tiny bit. Once I got the correct rockers, it ran fine. No bent valves this time.

@@HOMESTEAD_OPERATOR well, not the actual sauce, but the pepper mash which is crushed peppers in brine. They process it into sauce at the plant. Texas Pete hot sauce anyways. Tabasco is way bigger and has their own farm in the Baton Rouge area. The hot sauce runs were the most fun out of any run I have been on and I have done 99% of the lower 48. Before the one who I will not mention made a bunch of changes and they moved glucose amalyse production to the midwest from NC, I would leave home Sunday evening and pick up one county over, run out to Nebraska to one of the big ethanol plants and make my drop, drive to Longmont, CO to the tank wash & from there head south to Vado to pick up and do my 34 & run back to NC via I-20 to I-85 and then back home to relax for another 34

I started back in 89-90 and I’ve driven older trucks that were getting 1 mpg all the way up to 16 mpg but the average was about 8-9. Fast forward to trucks of today and they get worse fuel mileage! The EPA AND GOVERNMENT CAN SUCK IT! Whose bright idea was it to run piss, caustic piss, through a filter? Like that’s environmentally friendly with all the plastic wrapped in cardboard single use containers! Ugh 😩
@HOMESTEAD_OPERATOR2 ай бұрын
@itiswhatitis4846 yes the epa, carb and the majority of government can and should suck it. I am %100 positive they are crooked as the devil himself. However as a mechanic of the last 15 years, 1. The chicken piss does not go through the exhaust filter. It is injected upstream of the scr where the chemical reaction between the urea and nitrogen oxides takes place. And tho is sucks to say, it does actually reduce reduce toxic emissions. 2. By definition, it's not caustic. Slightly corrosive yes. As for the burning sensation when its on your skin is no different than the sensation of overly salty water. Its just the water leaving and the urea braking down into ammonia leaving you itchy 3. Old trucks are and always will be far superior. Even if they have slightly worse fuel mileage cause the overall operating cost will continuously be in favor of an older truck. An entire turbo back exhaust system for an pre 2006 truck was about a grand. A psot 2010 exhaust system can easily exceed $10K.

@myroslavmelnyk literally anywhere that sells bearings. There will be a brand and part number on the bearings you removed. Use the internet to cross the part number and find the bearing that best suits your needs. A little secret i have found is to not be cheap when it comes to bearings. Stick to name brands. You can also locate a local bearing shop, small or heavy equipment service/parts provider and have them help find the right bearing.
