Hi Foxyfoxfilme - in the exam no wordcount is given. It is not the wordcount that matters. Assessment objective 4 asks you to show your understanding of Lingustics and the theories. I would worry less about the wordcount and rather show off your ability. I have always told students to aim for 900 words per question. But remember that quality trumps quantity. I would urge you to do two things. 1 find articles online US or UK based (not political) from around 3 or 4 years ago. And read, and read and read. 2. Copy out writing articles, stories, magazine articles, websites in English. This will increase your speed of writing and develop vocabulary and also give you ideas for further assignments.

Hi @gabrielakessler769 - It is not as serious as you imagine. Yes - you will be penalised. It is basically how well did you achieve the task set. The examiner will assess your work overall and not just on your wordcount. My suggestion - put a pin in it! The exam is over and it is not a train smash. Focus on your other exams. You cannot change anything now. I know you might be beating yourself up - don't. This happens more than you realise. Examiners are not monsters - they are teachers and will give you the best mark available. Deep breath - and carry on. You are going to be fine.🤗

Punctuation, know your structural devices, language devices and key conventions.

The AIDA marketing model is a model within the class known as hierarchy of effects models or hierarchical models, all of which imply that consumers move through a series of steps or stages when they make purchase decisions. I would urge you to focus on the persuasive language devices - AIDA is not part of the curriculum but can give you insight.

I would trust your teacher. My students use personal pronouns - it is a reflective commentary. So you are telling the examiner what you did to achieve the task's requirements. This allows for personal reflection and a more personal connection with your examiner. Do what you have done in your mock papers. There is always more than one way to do anything. English is an ART, not a science.

Teacher nick, in the marking it's stated that sticking to the word limit is looked at when deciding your A02 mark out of 25 for extended writing. Is it still a bad idea to exceed the word limit?

First or Third - Third person is more prevalent but depending on the register and subject matter. Remember English is an art not a Science. If you use first person or third person it is for the effect you want to create for your audience. Good Question!

Focus on what the task is. Ask the following questions. How did I show that I addressed the audience? How did I show I addressed the register? How did I show I addressed the conventions of the text type? What structural features did I use to achieve the task set by the question? What Language devices did I use to achieve the task set by the question? Remember - you only have 60 minutes maximum for this question. If you haven't practised writing this question - you may have to be strategic and limit your 1b. The instruction for 1a is to write no more than 400 words. This is because Cambridge is aware that the average student can only write between 600 and 900 words per hour. This is a guide for 1b. Aim for around 200 - 300+ words within the given 60 minutes. DO NOT WASTE TIME - THERE ARE MORE MARKS AVAILABLE IN Q"s 2, 3 and 4.
