I understand the red lever was an OSHA requirement in the early 90‘s as all equipment stop switches were mandated red in color. Then they determined on Stihl‘s that black on orange was easier to identify than red on orange. Nice saw!

Hi. I noticed that you made lots of videos about vintage chainsaw and I'm wondering whether you're up for a collaboration talking about vintage chainsaw maintenance and repair. Hipa supplies good quality and affordable parts such as carbs, air and fuel filters. Maybe we can collaborate?

Just purchased a 49 cc version and it is a bear to start. I am not new to using chainsaws but if this is supposed to have a compression release well, it either isn't working or it doesn't actually have one. The way you are starting yours well, mine will just allow one little pull of one compression stroke or pop if you will. Try anything more and it just kicks back and jerks the starting handle right out of your hand.

Revs faster because it has only a 4 lb. Flexplate. Add a clutch or torqe converter and much slower revs.
