I'm sorry; no disrespect, but most of those pictures were NOT "kawaii." The illustrator of that coloring book was trying too hard to make them look cute, but they look way more goofy and cringy. Nice job coloring the pictures, though.

I've never used stickles by making a dot/bead and then proceeding to flatten it out. The whole point is that stickles stays raised and does not flatten. Anyhoo, clear dollar store glue DRIES FLAT. Is this glitter sticky? Absolutely. Does it perform like stickles? No....

Where did you get your mini coloring book, the mini color pencils and the pip squeaks markers from?

I don't think stickles is glitter, I believe it is made with mica powders or eye shadows. Some are glittery/shimmery some are more pearls. This would work great on lots of projects though and bigger projects.

You can also get tubes ,to mix your own colors.Tinter,I believe it's called.

Seeing this two years on. Nice comparison. I love both. Both are vibrant. Chromaflow are a bit more "creamy" and probably easier to use. I have a soft spot for the Coloursoft. Not just because I really like them but because a weird happenstance, I ended up with five full sets of them! (Long story short - I bought a set, it had a defective Bright Orange. The US division said they don't replace single pencils but would send me out a new set. This is where I have to skip ahead. And I just kept on receiving new sets. 4 of them! And while I was waiting, I hated not having that Bright Orange so I bought the 12-pencil set at my local art store). So basically, they have to become my new best friend because I have so many! I find that "easy does it" works best with the CS. Yes, they are soft but they aren't like Prismacolors. You can't cram them down on the paper and push them around. A nice chill hand is best and then they perform like a dream. Otherwise, they resist a bit.

Wow, you're super organized. Just returned the 172 cardboard set cause yeah, they sucked. Too many broken cores. Ordered the 174 tin set as a replacement, glad to see they seem much better. Looking forward to trying them out.

Appreciate the comparisons. Very interesting. Also too, the paper makes a difference. Lyra, Faber Castell will tell you what paper their various products shine best on. I blend easily on the right paper with "the oils". Plus the "oils" have use with mineral spirits to look like an actual oil painting and such. Adult coloring books can vary so I think "wax based" are probably a best buy. As you showed, no need for "specialty" items to do great quality work on that end.

What you are describing is the process of so-called "whitelabeling" A manufacturer makes a product without any name or brand to it and companies can buy said product and label it themselves. In your example, we know for certain that the lead, so the product that actually colors is the same with Castle Art and Star-Joy, which does not mean that other brands use the same lead manufacturer. Brutfuner for example (talking about the square ones) are legitimate oil based colored pencils. It might very well be, that multiple known companies out there use the same manufacturer for their leads as the mentioned two brands, but we do not know that for certain unless they'd tell us.

It's funny that you honed in on the "peach" pencil. I noticed the same thing! But then I saw the same thing in a non-Chinese set and I decided that they think of peach as different than maybe we do in the US. We think of it as a light orange-y pink whereas I think they think of it as the orange-y red that's on the outside of a peach. That said, I really like this set.

Hello Neece, 3 years too late, but I was looking for decent cardstock for printing out coloring page pdfs, I’m heavy handed like you with prisma & derwent coloursoft pencils & although I love strathmore Bristol vellum it’s actually very smooth and nice for a Prismacolor’s, but the other Bristol vellum papers are too rough like you said, I made that mistake as well, so that’s how I ended up finding you. I’m going to try one of the 2 papers you suggested.

TFS! I Just went and ordered the Soucokor set! I was a suckered though because I paid extra so I could get the turquoise case instead if just black. I have the transmit set as well. Love it! 😊

What kind of brush are you using to sweep away the pencil dust? I have not found a way to keep it from getting on the other already colored item on a page, it's disappointing and ruins the work that is done.
