Sipping on my Moroccan mint tea (as I always do, everyday 😅) and then got notified of your episode! 🎉 This year has gone by so fast indeed, and I've made quite a few mistakes that I can sit by and regret and cry over but I've repented and I've learnt a lot from them Hamdoulillah, so I wouldn't have it go any other way. The parent analogy you mentioned is really accurate; our understanding of the world is so limited because we don't know the future and we're so impatient by nature that we just want any desire to be fulfilled instantly. But we just have to trust our Creator since He's had our back all of our existence. It's difficult to embrace when that hasn't happened to you, but upon reflection, you'll always find out that this has happened to you before and you just weren't aware. Thanks for the lovely episode :)

The main standard I held firm to was that my husband has to be a strong believer that fears Allah. Additionally I made sure he was creative and a risk taker. After this, I let it all go. Fast forward four years, he grew and developed so much into the man of my dreams. So really, understand you’re never going to find “the perfect man”. We need to stay patient and trust Allah that whoever you choose will grow just as you will also grow.

Sometimes you don’t necessarily marry exactly your type but through growing together you both become ideal partners Alhamdulilah. Life is funny like that sometimes. Most needed advice in today’s day and age -to focus on self worth and self improvement rather than focusing on desiring what others have !! Wow! I was literally thinking about it this morning then i got a notification about your episode with the same topic Soubhan'Allah 😅 I really enjoyed this episode and it felt like a big hug : I want to get married, but the heat's mostly on bc everyone around me is getting married and I have no clue what they're doing to meet their partners, my family has also been bugging me about it, but It's so hard because I have strong values and I refuse to settle for just about anyone or to go about it in a Haram way. At times, I also keep thinking maybe Allah just hasn't planned it for me and i need to accept that, maybe it's my test etc. Then sheitan takes advantage and starts whispering to me that I should just stop praying for it because it's never going to happen, and I have to remind myself that Allah SWT loves to hear us pray for him, so I won't stop praying for it anyway😅

It can be tough with all the expectations there is with marriage and seeing everyone else get married certainly doesn’t help 😕 like you said it’s the shaytans whispers as well so Alhamdulilah you are definitely on the right track. Just wanted to drop a comment to say I really enjoyed this episode, and I can relate with so many of the tips you mentioned : the day I decided I no longer want to consume content that doesn't agree with my values and just watch content that inspires me to do better (I'm either listening to Islamic lectures/content or watching videos about running), I've just been feeling better Hamdoulillah. We are what we consume at the end of the day! Keep up the good work Yas ❤
