Rings expander plier

i dont understand how the rings create air tight seal? they are all opened even though if you aligned them out of phase, gas pressure travels fast and should have no trouble following the end gap .

A bought a Comp Cam that had a .006 base circle run out for 30 degrees. I sent it back. I ordered an Enginetech cam which had the same casting # as the Comp Cam. The Enginetech cam had zero base circle run out and it runs great. Check out Powell Machine Inc on KZbin for videos on why flat tappet lobes go flat. The lifter face surface finish has a lot to do with it it along with trash in in the cam grinding wheel and oil. The lobes can also have chatter ground into them. Powell Machine Inc grinds cams and it just sold it's flat tappet lifter grinder as today's poor quality finish on new lifters required the constant 5 day a week grinding of new lifters. Now Powell only deals in roller cams and lifters.

All the intake lifters were junk the faces were strangely pited. The exaust had a diffrent ware to them the outside of them had ware around the edges total garbage. I have been building engines for over 55 years never saw any thing like this.

How much do I gap M40718 Rings on P5076 pistons? Different piston manufacturers require more or less gap. There's no instructions in either box besides ring orientation. Your website makes it seem like both top and bottom can be the same as long as over .0035 per inch of bore. Please any sort of instructions would help.

I got a couple questions. I ordered an engine tech rebuild kit for a 2001 5.9 l Cummins diesel. Question number one on the rod bearings half of them are shiny. The other half are dull color which one is the upper? and which one is the lower? The second question is on the top piston ring. It wasn't marked and looked identical on both sides Does this mean it could go either way?

I bought a set of engine tech cam bearings for my chevy v6 engine, I took them out the box and there are metal shavings in the oil holes, and theres is a sharp edge inside the bearing where the hole was drilled.,. this will destroy a camshaft if not sanded smooth.. ENGINE TECH NEEDS TO do some quality control.. you should have to fix a brand new part right out of the box.. the part number is CC-407.

It would be cool to let you guys work on my 5.7l dodge magnum and see all the internals and such, I’m thinking about rebuilding my engine completely because my radiator hose popped not that long ago and I eventually cracked the head of the block 😅

So the fire seal head gaskets for a 350 sbc will seal no matter how the gasket goes?????

Hey I got Taiwanese SBC flat tappet hydraulic lifters in an Engintech box from one of your official ebay sellers, those lifters are crap quality they all differ in lengh and are full of metal shavings! The box states made in ROC (Taiwan!) Never got such a crap before under your engine tech label! Are you now sellling Chinesium crap? You will ruin your business! The ebay sellers state that they sell Enginetech made in Mexico lifters but the box states made in ROC and there is crap inside!!!
