That is one smart German Shepherd! He certainly understands the cat's very foreign body language--most dogs do not. He approaches cat with a closed mouth thereby not exposing his scary, enormous wolfy teeth. My adult German Shepherd met my cat by licking her from foot to head and as soon as Zetha saw those teeth and the bounding playful tail, she LOST IT and latched onto Cleo like that grabbing face scene straight out of Alien, which sent my poor Cleo to the vet for stitches. This puppy knew much better. He's a smart, good boy!

The cat will get used to it. When I was a kid we had two cats for years, and finally got a dog. They were absolutely terrified at first; hissing, peeing on the floor terrified. Within a month they were so used to it they barely blinked when the puppy ran right by them chasing a toy.

This is the perfect example of how NOT TO INTRODUCE DOGS and cats. The cat is terrified and the dog could actually attack him and you could not save it. That’s not a puppy. That’s a huge dog.
