Imagine how many American pilots would be ineligible to fly if say, they couldn’t speak Japanese or Chinese….or even French. Yet every Transport pilot must learn at least aviation English to hold down their job.

It's a thing many get annoyed at but it's hard to pick a second language in school, so many choices but with English, every country tends to go for that so it's more of an easy choice, I've sorted of tried learning Chinese more and tried a few others but could never put myself to it, maybe if there was classes at school like everyday. We had french, 30 minutes a week, I was a bit lazy then and was in bottom and they really didn't care much about teaching it, I learnt more french on my own after school as an adult though. 🤣

Why fly a 747 over London especially from London City airport? Wouldn’t a Cessna give better views of the scenery with low slow flying?

That must be sidestep approach even though the pilot missed the touch zone threshold he still had enough speed to exit the runway where he was supposed to, this a skill that takes a lot of practice am sure the pilots smile and feel happy ☺️ when they pull out such an approach safely 🙏 Am not sure though if the passengers at the back get to feel that kind of maneuver
@satoriflight3978Күн бұрын
Just barely in the touchdown zone. Ideally you want to touchdown on the big white blocks, they touched down 1,500 feet past that. If braking action was reported less than good, I would've gone around.

I’m sorry folks, but what is supposed to be impressive here ? Landing a commercial passenger airplane by a professional pilot in a cross wind ? I don’t give a s*hit how hard or impressive it is, our lives depend on it, to land safely. It better be a dam skill of second nature, not an impressive landing every once in a while ! No ! I do not claim to be able to fly a plane, or claim to be smarter than anyone, or proclaim that this is easy to do, or anything else. I’m just saying that, of all the things commercial pilots do in their job, TAKING OFF, FLYING, AND LANDING THE PLANE BETTER BE THE BEST DAM THING THEY DO, NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE !! THIS ISN’T AN “ACCEPTABLE FAILURE RATE” TYPE OF JOB !! UNBELIEVABLE, IT SEEMS TODAYS SOCIETY WANTS TO GIVE AWARDS TO EVEN COMMERCIAL AIRLINE PILOTS WHO LAND IN A CROSSWIND !!

I think audio communications should be the next thing they improve on airplanes. It's 2024 and it sounds like they're communicating on Fisher-Price walkie-talkies.

Kennedy the least professional ATC of any major world hub, renowned around the world for rudeness and a total lack of awareness what’s going on inside the flight deck and outside of their own ‘controller bubble’. Fast talking, clipped and often heavily accented “English”, non ICAO terminology and a delusion belief amongst some that they are some sort of hot shot. Combine that with outdated infrastructure, local procedures in an overloaded and underinvested airport, its a real threat that has to be pre-briefed. Keep in mind that a good proportion of users are not local and hence will not understand non standard fast spoken colloquialisms but attempts to do the ‘safe’ thing and clarify instructions can result in a stinging rebuke. There are some very good controllers there but unfortunately a few individuals give it its poor reputation.

Osaka Itami airport only handles Japan domestic flights since Osaka Kansai airport opened in 1994. The first passenger flight of the 787 was October 2011. Seems a little unlikely that a 787 would be used for a domestic Japan flight.
