Congratulations! Repoed our RV12 from Aimes,Iowa to TEXAS 2023. Nephew is flying her and Time-building and mechanical. So enjoyable the experience and flying her now she’s dialed in. Cost effective too! Happy Landings & Travel. 😎

Hello Alan, Thanks for watching. I would say full flaps, keeping my speed down (50-55 knts) across the numbers if in calm air and setting pitch attitude with small stick movements works for me. If I carry a lot of airspeed in ground effect, she tends to balloon real easy on me as well as float a long way. Jack

@@SouthernLatitudesAviation I got my PPL, went to Little Rock Ark to pick up our plane N234YP, got the 5 hours of "transition training" for my insurance, then came back to Nashville, and the next day Crystal and I were off to KeyWest. I had only had my PPL for a few days and 51 hours total time. First time in CLASS C and CLASS B airspace, first time in or near rain and weather, 100's of miles over a solid layer while VFR, first time over 10,500 ft, and first time over large bodies of water were ALL in my FIRST WEEK as a Private Pilot... That trip down Florida and back was the only usable media I had to create an intro with at that point.... I think it turned out good, so I have kept it. : ) I also watch Florida Flying (I think you know Pedro Saldarriaga?) and as he did, will probably upgrade our TL Sting S3 (N234YP) to full IFR Legal soon. It would be interesting to get together, I would like to see an RV12 in real life. It would be cool to see the differences in our planes, even thought they are very similar in performance. Cheers Rob.

i want to buy an experimental or build one but rotax engine is ok to use at florida? with high temperature? i mean 100ll or 91 autogas which one u using?
@SouthernLatitudesAviation3 ай бұрын
Hello, Thanks for watching. I do not have 91 or higher available in my area without ethanol, but I do have 90 ethanol free available that I blend with 100ll to achieve a 91 aki. I try to use the least amount of 100ll possible to achieve 91 aki due to the lead content in 100ll. I do have to "step" climb during hot periods. I will usually have to level off at 3k, let the temps drop and then resume climbing. Also, flying at 4500 or higher keeps it nice and cool. Jack
@burakaskin273 ай бұрын
@SouthernLatitudesAviation you have 912 rotax?? because in website says fuel tank after 20 celcius not good and we living florida mostly time temp is over 20° lyvoming is really heavy for lsa i think rotax is best

Hi Alan, Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoy the simplicity of our channel. You do not need to get a clearance if you are vertically out of their airspace. I believe Melbourne's airspace ceiling is 1900 feet. I flew over at 6500 feet and never spoke to them. I do monitor airport frequencies when I fly over for traffic awareness. Jack

Thank you for the tour. What a lovely part of the world! 😃 Are clearances above international airports such as Melbourne readily available? Alan from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺

Happy New Year to y'all. Jack, I would be interested on your thoughts flying out of your airport with all the restricted and controlled air space around you. It seems intimidating and confining. P.S. Great videos and especially the editing! All the best.
@SouthernLatitudesAviation6 ай бұрын
Hi, Thanks for watching. I felt the same exact way when I first started flying here. As you study and fly the airspace, you gain confidence. As a result, it becomes less intimidating and way less confining. And with ForeFlight, it's easy to keep track of where you are. The thing is to be aware of your vertical position as well as your horizontal position in relationship to airspaces. Lastly, air traffic is probably the biggest thing. Gotta keep your head on a swivel. Hope I answered your questions. Jack
