Bought 12’ g56 w/ SB clutch & I hate it! Clutch engaged its “NOISY” clatter & hard shifts! 2nd gear is really difficult to engage & usually got to hit 1st then into second but got me wondering if throw out bearings coming out or going bad but tech from SB says could be nylon piece in between clutch plate could came apart or loosened which I’ve never had apart or worked on one their clutches but can’t be right. Your opinion would be appreciated. Blind diagnoses is difficult but……… Shifts nothing like my ok wore out ZF behind 7.3
@Talbot_Industries20 күн бұрын
i haven't driven any 2 G56 trucks that feel the same. first thing i would check for the shifting issue is make sure its disengaging all the way. jack up the rear and see if you can spin the driveshaft with the truck in gear and clutch petal pushed in. change the fluid. mine was hard to shift. swapped to amsoil and it got alot better. as for the noise throwout bearings will only make noise when clutch is disengaged cause that's when there is pressure on it. if its a "quiet" clutch there are plastic pieces that dampen the noise but they can still be noisy. G56 like to be above 1500 rpm and live for a long time above 2000. they make alot of gear roll over noise below 1500 and dont like to be lugged.

Are you running separators like Air dog or FASS? Curious why you went with in tank lift pump over Air dog or fass
@Talbot_Industries20 күн бұрын
running cat filter adapters in the factory locations. never been much of a fan of the external pumps and truck wont be at the power level of needing more fuel

Why not just use 5he conversion kit to bring both filters, under your frame? is there a significant difference in doing so or is it just personal preferances for such kits?

Good work. Great that you removed the stock regulator on the compressor. They are very restrictive.

To be fair, many years ago, I used to repair diamond concrete cutting and core-drilling equipment and the Milwaukee core-drills aluminium bodies were fitted with helicoils as OEM standard for mounting the drills onto the rigs, these drills used core-bits up to 24" diameter... and I never saw helicoil failures....also, the beauty of them is they work in situations where you don't HAVE the "meat" around the hole to use Keenserts... 😎👍☘️🍻

I just did a cluster swap on my 2018 2500 Tradesman. I thought I could just use alfaobd to change my mileage and hours. Will the single wire one work with what I am doing? Edit: I see your update with the correct harness.

Where in the world at the blanked off wires??
@Talbot_Industries5 ай бұрын
mine were pretty much directly under where the switch goes. not all truck have the wires from factory. that's why the kit comes with the wires

Sure would be cool if you showed how to wire it up instead of just saying you hook one wire up to this and another to that.

Had the same problem with no power to the voltage regulator. On my Gravely/Areins, there is a fuse in wiring harness tucked under the fuel filter that is for the charging circuit. It is hard to find unless you are looking for it. The fuse socket was burned up from a bad connection. Had to pull the loom loose so I could cut open the harness so I could solder and heat shrink a new fuse holder in. Works like it should now.

I've never had to buy a special size tap for Helicoils. I always have the size in my set. 🤷 I guess it helps to have a drill bit set that goes up by 64ths.

I've been dealing with this for years now.. my 95 12v constantly locks/ unlocks at right about cruising speed (60-65) and is SO annoying.. and has been for the last 280K miles! I'm gonna have to try this, if I can find the kit/ switch :)
@@Talbot_Industries Thanks! I rewatched the video, and caught the name.. looked it up and it's already ordered :) Can't believe I've put up with this for almost 16 years and just found this solution, I suspected the TPS was the issue, but the one for my 95 is listed at $300+ vs this switch for $42, shipped to my house :) Thanks again, you got a new Subscriber for this one!
