For me is very nice footage and beautiful landscape. !! like!

Personally, I find the result really quite good. 👌👏 It’s better to create a montage of several small clips rather than including the entire sequence because there will inevitably be less smooth sections where the drone loses its target. Regarding the lost recordings, perhaps this is due to an unintentional action of the remote control in the backpack... 🤔

Don’t do this alone. and not on open ski slopes. If the drone falls or hits someone, you are in big trouble. Better if a friend pilots the drone. Better shots, safer and also more legal.

Thanks for the video. Can the controller be inside the backpack when active tracking or does it need to be mounted on bike somewhere?

@radtravel331711 ай бұрын
The fly more combo comes with a drone bag. If you unscrew the sticks you can put it sidewise into the bag the way that the antennas fit in the gap between the inner walls and the outer. However over time I simple put it onto that closed bag because I had to take it out again and again all the time. I likely will search a little card box or something to cover the bottom keys and then I will put it in there and this on top of the bag.

The SKYDIO 2 plus drone are much better i think. Can we use drones on ski slopes?
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
Well if you ask if this is legal to do ... it depends on the country. In Switzerland the drone laws just changed this year and now the EU drone laws are applayed. For a C0 drone (less than 250g) like the DJI Minis you can fly in the A1 open category which allows the overflying of uninvolved people but not the overflying of crowds. Also the follow me aka DJI Active Track is allowed as an exception of the usual strict in sight flight only. So my conclusion is yes. I am not sure they thought about this scenario when creating the law. If many do that then I see new laws comming. ;) Note: You don't need to do a drone licence for C0 but you have to be registered as pilot. I recomment to do the basic drone licence because it gives you a lot of the informations that are good to know.

Hi man, great video, did you use any ND filters over de lens?
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
No ND Filters and 4K60Hz Auto mode. I have to say from all the DJI Drones that I had so far this is the one I like best when it comes to picture quality combined with simplicity to use. No post steps color grading required and it also seems to handle the switch from bright to dark places well enough in auto mode.

wooow! I'm still excited about the video! For someone like me, it's great to watch skiing from the Alps (?) and it doesn't matter that the drone does what it wants sometimes. Just seeing the moments when the drone makes mistakes is useful for me too. Thanks for the great video.

The 360° lenses have made tracking from behind (at speed) worse than on the Mini 3 Pro. The older obstacles avoidance system could see + 7m into the distance (25m on the M3P vs. 18m on the M4P). 18m is way to les at speed!

OMG... Mini 4 pro obstacle sensors are too small for a serious active track. May be the Mini 5 will do better.

"The drone is very silent which is nice but also makes it difficult to hear if the drone is still following you." I haven't thought about that actually. But I did say before that a tracking drone controller should have sounds so you can hear distance and height. The real issue with DJI is of course that they refuse to add follow-me. Not that I am against active-track. But is many situations, perhaps even most, follow-me is much more reliable and also safer. You can have the drone fly in view. And if you have a nice small controller on the handlebars you can make adjustments etc. It's impossible to use a touchscreen while riding. DJI makes the best drones. But they haven't a clue how people use their products in real life. And they're certainly not biker drones.
@TrainLovers-TL69 Жыл бұрын
I also dontunderstand exactly why the RC controller does not have the function to call the drone to the controller!!!
@driewiel Жыл бұрын
@@TrainLovers-TL69 My funny €130 L109 Pro drone automatically updates homepoint while in or after using follow-me. So I don't have to race back like an idiot up the mountain to where it took off. If it had a better camera it would blow DJI's active-track right out of the sky as a drone to track you on a bike, despite it not having obstacle avoidance etc.

Wish I'd had this equipment when I used to ski every year. Too wet outside at the moment, but was wondering what happens after you draw the box around the subject if you then switch the controller off, will the drone still follow the subject? In that fairly barren terrain, it is not likely you need to quickly take over to control it. Just a thought and if it stops raining, I might go out and test the theory. Enjoyed your video. Best Dave
@dave20thmay Жыл бұрын
Just been out to try the suggestion of switching off the controller, and just know that everyone and his dog, knew what was going to happen, the drone just landed itself gently where it had take off from. So that idea is out the window.
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for testing that. I figured out that you can put the controller activated and with the antennas out very well back into the drone bag that comes with the combo set. And that bag into your backpack. You can somewhat see how I did it in my latest video. I think that will also work in rougher terrain.

Question....where is the controller?
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
That is a good question. Have the RC2. I put it aktivated in the top half of my backpack above the drone bag and prayed that it won't click buttons while riding. You see me takeing it out to land the drone out at the end of the video. I also wonder how to solve this best. Maybe 3D printing a lightwight case.
@Billsadventures1958 Жыл бұрын
I've seen some decent bike mounts online for that model. I'm currently using the Mini2 with Litchi for follow. Your video was inspiring to upgrade my drone and controller
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
I started to design and print a 3D case but my design didn't really work but then I figured that the DJI bag that comes with the DJI mini 4 pro fly more combo can hold the RC2 controller perfectly when you unscrew the controller sticks. There is a gap in the spearations walls of the 3 chambers between the side of the bag and the wall where the antennas will fit. Putting the RC2 there the worst that seem to be able to happen if you are unlucky is that something from outside clicks the photo button (bottom right bag corner). Sure unscrewing the Controll Sticks is a burdon but this way you don't even have to carry an additional case which adds weight and eats backpack space. I believe that DJI bag might just work fine. Be careful..watching some youtube mini 4 crash videos..it looks a bit like that the dorne currently has an obstacle detection weakness when moving sidewards and there are tree branches.
@radtravel3317 Жыл бұрын
Oh but I guess the bag will have to be left open. Without air circulation the controller might overheat.

Love the drone! Could be a bit smaller though. Still have to figure out how to best correct the colors. Even HDR is too flat. Prefer the more vivid colors of the cheaper cameras so I spend a lot time to adjust the colors in my next video (Aegerisee Full Shore..) which will be up in... hmmm several hours. Dang that uploading times! You too enjoy your Air 2!

Nightwish is certainly not everyones taste. Personally Nightwish's music touches me on a deep driving level like no other music ever did before. Their noise are masterpieces and Floor Jansen the best singer I ever heard. (sry Tarja fans). Schaffhausen wasn't their best performance but they were just band nr 3 of a smaller city concert with the majority there not interested in Nightwish at all.
