If you get the sx4 turkey gun get the longbeard with the extended pistol grip makes it very easy quickly swing on a moving turkey 1 handed and takes out alot of the felt recoil with the 3.5 shells

I'm from SW Michigan. I have a hard time getting around like I used to and I couldn't get deer out of the public swamps by myself anymore since all the guys in my deer camp gave up hunting. So I hung it up a few years ago but I'm thinking about getting back into gun hunting which I haven't done in about 20+ years. Bow only for big bucks for years but now I will settle for does with a gun I guess and have been thinking of getting the the Ruger American Gen II myself. Just not sure yet. I don't have the drive to hunt as a loner anymore. I miss hunting with other people and hearing the stories, etc.

Glad you like your purchase! The trigger is called the Ruger Marksman trigger. I hear some complaints but I own one and I actually really like the trigger. It is even better for me after I got the MCARBO trigger kit to lighten the trigger down to 2 1/4 pounds which I find wonderful for hunting. Solid rifle!

Just picked up the new savage axis 2 pro in 400 legend. Got 350 legend ruger american got about 40 down pipe. Just don't like it the accuracy is bad. So I did lot of research an savage just seems to be a better rifle. Plus the new stock with more tactical pistol grip is way better looking. Shot the savage today fantastic groups out to 230yrds.

How's the hunt with the blind so far? I also just purchased this one as a 2-3 man, which does make a difference in the height of the windows on how high or low it is, but i am waiting for firearm season.

When you've got an idea of what it's gonna look like and then you get there and there's 2 inches of room behind your camper, I could feel your frustration lol I've got a site booked there today with my 30 foot motorhome so we'll see how this goes lmao 🤣 I like the activities for the kids and the snack shack and that's cool they do the pancakes in the morning. A locking bolt safety is a must,....otherwise you end up with the round missing, action open and full of trash. I'll never buy a rifle without a safety that locks the bolt.

Just caught my first steelhead ever and was dark by the time I got him off hook. I through him in half a bucket of river water and he was alive when I got home. I replaced the water with cold well water so he's probably dead but I didn't gut or bleed him yet. Was hoping to get it in morning about 12 hrs from now. Do you guys think the meat will be ok? If not it's okay because I can use him for trapper bait but I was really hoping to eat him. What do you guys think? Will it be spoil sitting dead in cold water overnight?
