If you can’t catch on it in the middle of the red white thing, then try to aim for the sides of it as well, they might count them as a catch on accident (and I’m talking about the white’s corners, not of the entire line). But I’d still recommend saving the game before going through the spirit box. Thus you won’t lose on the spot and have no place else to start from.

You can't escape. Even when you make it outside and go past the 4 monsters, the person you play as will trip and the monsters will still get him.
