I was so excited to notice your typos in your movement script. Then you load the game in Godot and it somehow works. I was so confused. Then it cut back to your code and your typos were fixed. Clever editing.

Am I only one who hates bosses? It feels like I am required to get my combat skills to a specific level before continuing having fun. Ok, in many games I care only about combat, and in roguelike path to the boss is fun enough, so it is ok. But metroidvania aren't this kind of games.
@kilogalaxia2035Ай бұрын
Imo Metroidvania's top priority is exploration. Combat is also important but it's best to have some work arounds for difficult fights so that players won't get stuck.

Nice breakdown, also it feels that this isn't metroidvania specific things.

Its more like talking about the game really then reporting bugs, i just mentioned them because on a Discord server it would be very easy and fast to report them. So far the only bug i found is that the game broke after i cheesed some of it xD

I will not put grades just want to draw your attention to the visual component, you should work on animations and not be lazy to do a full cycle of frames because it does not look very good, this is especially true for idle animation, which you have works as 1,2,3,4,3,2 frames, take into account the physics of movement and to get a full 1,2,3,4,5,6 frames.
@kilogalaxia20354 ай бұрын
Thank you! Indeed I do that for some animations. Sometimes I try to balance time with quality, but I will be improving this boss in the future anyway.
@lazarosvouxinos52084 ай бұрын
I like the plasma splash and butterfly attacks , the animations are nostalgic and unique. If i would rate the boss i would say about 9 or 10. It s one of the bosses you need to play pixel perfect dashes to win

Probably for me it would be a 9/10, the fight gradually becomes more and more difficult towards the end, she seems like a really cool boss! Also I'd love to see an uninterrupted demonstration of how a successful fight could play out, either before or after the breakdown of all her moves and abilities

Don't forget to always include a collectible that you can only obtain using the new movement upgrade you've just unlocked. For example if you give wall climb to a player put a collectible on a small inset of a wall

I think it's the best when it's set on obvious backtrack path. Otherwise it would be just annoying padding for players who want 100%.
