I was wondering what rods you use kayak trolling? I just ordered my own Bigwater and was curious. Thanks for the video!
@earlybirdadventures867710 ай бұрын
So I think in a gear video I do break this down. For the kayak I prefer longish slow action rods. I like at least 8ft long rods for if the fish runs under the yak it is easier to flip the rod around the nose loaded up. And I like the slow action rods for the extra forgiveness netting the fish at the boat since the whole rod loads up it helps with not putting extra strain on the hooks close to the boat allows for a lot of head shakes that might not pull drag when we are putting the rod at weird angles while netting a big salmon or trout with flashers and pump handles dangling.
@earlybirdadventures867710 ай бұрын
Umm sorry forgot to mention my rods by name I have the okuma Coldwater series rods they don't make anymore but the okuma white diamond series seems like their close or similar rod. I like them for the rod but has the built in grooves that help lock in my rod to the holder. The diawa great lakes series are also pretty good I have a lot of them on my big boat
