Oh man was not expecting one of the Staples singers . The version she sang of the weight with the band is hella good and possibly one of my favorite versions

Just finished Tamara Saviano's book today, and am enjoying watching KZbin interviews of Tamara and husband Paul Whitfield to learn more. I pitched in to the Kickstarter early on, and I watched the evolution from the highest highs to the lowest lows along the way, such as getting Sissy Spacek, Guy's death, premier delays at SXSW due to Covid, etc, but loved the end result of the movie AND the book!

The first song I learned to play on guitar was LA Freeway. I was 69 years old and I found music that I could ACTUALLY PLAY! Thanks, Guy.

Thank you. That was beautiful. About the lyrics: While it's kindly to think about the poor, it's quite a bit more useful to actually help them. Shucks! Why not go the whole hog and stop people being poor in the first place.

Just a general comment about Rodney Crowell. I'm a 65 year old Canadian woman going through dialysis waiting for a transplant. Hours at dialysis leaves me listening to old tunes. I'm on a Rodney Crowell kick, watching his old videos What a gorgeous talented man with a smile, God that smile. I'm sad we all have to age and get sick but here's to the good old days

Thanks Tamara, I have lived for many years in the desert of west Tx after leaving Austin/Spicewood. 23 yrs ago. I grew up in Austin in the 70-80's and all the awesome mostly Tx music that was alive back then. Called the Third Coast because our music from all our talented musicians never really fit into the east and west coast style of the music business. Your film was a deeply felt product that touches many hearts. Fine work, Bravo. Every time I drive thru Monahans Tx I think of Guy.

I was raised in Kermit and got schooled in San Marcos. Long live Armadillo World Headquarters. Taught senior English at KHS for years and Wink too. Live in Colorado now and for the last ten years...play "hippie music" downtown six or seven nights a week in summer. I bet you knew Bill Ervin, my cousin. Nice saying hello to you...and these people in and mentioned mentioned in the vid are heroes to me.

This great lady gathered up all the hurt, sadness, disappointment, prejudice, bloodshed and lynching of her people's ancestors right down to the moment she stood in front of that microphone with her forgiving smile and she just let her God given talent cry out this heartfelt prayer to God ,asking for a lull in the suffering for her present day brothers and sisters into the future, black and white amen

The interview quickly went down hill? Is that all she had? FYI, the release is two years old. I can stream channels for a month for under 10 dollars. You might consider lowering the price. Is it more important for you to get paid than for people to learn about Guy Clark? Have you thought about letting Prime or Netflix use it? I would think there would be some money in that but then it would surely get on torrent sites ( which it currently isn't, by the way so I guess you are doing something right but understand, I always thought music and artists shouldn't be quite so selfish. Surely you have made money on it by now) No hard feelings, I've enjoyed the interviews but I'm on a fixed income and not about to spend 20 dollars to see anything

I'm a real Guy Clark fan though I did not realize it till about 2010 when I zeroed in on Guy being the writer of Jerry Jeff's "Desperados Waiting for a Train", "Let Him Roll", "LA Freeway" and several more that were all actually my favorites of Jerry Jeff and most of which I met back in 74-75. Thanks for all the work ya'll did in getting the history out there and hopefully, I'll get a chance to watch the whole movie someday.

This song is the anthem of Americans. Not of the United States of America as a nation, but of its people. The people who have come from countless different backgrounds, are many different skin colors, practice many different religions, and believe many different things, but all share hardships as well as prosperity. Let us all work together to build the America of the future, one where hard times truly come again no more.

I had a small demo studio on the row and one night Steve pulled up in a tour bus and sent Justin to come get me. I walked out there and Steve told me that I had to go to the Blue Bird that night. So I did and it was Towns Van Zane, Guy Clark and Steve. Playing songs and swapping stories. Emmy Lou was there too, and did a couple songs with them.
