Been running spotters for 14 years. The tico is by far the most driver friendly one I've been in but boy do the hydraulics suck. Shouldnt have to run the throttle wide open to raise or lower the 5th wheel

We have three of them in Buffalo.The cab design is terrible when snow and ice get on the roof it melt and come right in the drivers window.

@erietrain - hello- this is easily solved with cab rain guards which can spec’d out of the factory. if you provide us with your company info, we will have our local dealer reach out to provide. thank you!

I have driven a Capacity for over 17 years. I can average 50 moves in 4 hours. Thats hooking up to trailer opening or closing doors and putting them up to the dock or pulling down and putting them in the yard. These Ticos switchers look like Edsel ford.... lazy man switcher

They don't look like they would be good in a busy environment

Very good truck. Little bulkier feel than Ottowas, but definitely a much smoother ride. Came here for the Regen instructions at 10:30. Good video, thanks for making it

There is only one name that comes to mind when you need a terminal tractor, Terberg! Enough said. Best off tractors in the world.

I've been in one for 170 hours now. Initially, the cons outweighed the pros. The steering isn't as tight as the Kalmar we have. Our yard has limited space. There's a huge blindspot on the right. There is no visibility when backing to the right. I was finally able to adjust the mirrors for optimum use, but it's still a guessing game. And no matter how tight you turn the screws, I can't get the mirrors to quit vibrating. Backing I. The dark is a challenge. I have asked if we can install work lights on the lower half of the unit. The upper lights and reverse light create a glare in the mirrors, especially with stainless steel trailer fronts. With road trucks, you can get the swerving and wandering under control. Because this is a yard truck, it is what it is. Dangerous, but oh well. And lastly, this is a spotter truck normal, I guess. You can't set the tractor brakes and let the trailer air up. I could on the Capacity. But the Kalmar and the Tico you can not. Some of our trailers take nearly five minutes to air enough to slide the tandems. At least three trailers, the brakes won't be released until the tanks are fully filled.

10 years of driving yard goats this one was my favorite. The cab had room for my cooler, toolbox, all my junk I need for the day.

Hello, I have to ask and hopefully someone know the answer to this, Is it normal if the Tico trucks shuts off on its own after roughly ten minutes on idle? Can this feature be changed??

Your trucks are pure garbage

Decent spotter truck,lots of room in the cab, love the extra jump seat. Don't like the electric boom though. Our Ottawa t2 is faster to do moves with due to the hydraulic operated boom . The rails on the boom are by far superior to the Ottawa though.

Very creative and innovative!! Duncan Pindar, I worked for TICO few years ago in Jax and I felt like they were setting the standard everyone had to chase back then. The company was growing in leaps and bounds back then but this is sure to be the next level in this industry. I wish you much luck with your quest. I will be watching I was always fascinated with TICO's drive to be the best! Michael L. Jones

One thing you do not mention, is short wheel base that allows minimal turning room . Optimum visibility comfortable seat for driver and that your vehicle is road Worthy. You have a very good product as a former yard spotter driver I know quality when I see it your vehicle has the it factor.

How do I hook up an air hose to trucks air compressor to use to air up a tire?? Does anyone know?
@michaellavery83492 жыл бұрын
Make a air line with a universal glad hand on one end & a air chuck on the other end. U can buy one at a truck stop. Hook it to the tractor emergency line & air up tires!!

Hands down, EASILY the worst brand new vehicle ever made. At 3000 hours, our brand new truck has had many multiple check engine lights, transmission line blew out, when it rains the floor floods, loose screws, both wipers fell off, gauges installed crooked, one lights up half the time, and two work lights shorted out. This thing is a pile of pure hot garbage.

Great looking truck. I worked for Tico for 16 years and they have always been safety and functional oriented. If anyone working for Tico remembers me I would like to hear from you my name is Mike Jones and I was regional manager for Florida. Good luck again very impressive truck!!
