Stern drives have pitch control and directional thrust, and the stern drive itself acts as a massive rudder. Try flying a plane with only tail rudder control. That's what a v-drive and direct drive boat is

Great video. Now I just need $100k-$150k for a boat.

What's better for salt water: stern drive, inboard, or outboard? Looking at a 25 ft, used primarily for skiing and just ordinary recreation. Obviously concerned about corrosion.

How do you remember port from starboard? When all the booze is gone, there is no more PORT LEFT to drink. So starboard is where the captain throws your drunk butt after raising a little hell.

that honestly was very confusing lol

I remember it by left and port having the same number of letters.

As i see...boat gearbox is much more simple than motorcycle or car or truck gearbox..

Very well done and very informative. However, you pronounced the side of the vessel correctly, but isn’t it spelled gunwale?

What about v-drive for salt water boat that stays in water? Less upkeep them a I/O and all the maintenance that’s required on those drives.

You still can’t go to shallow with jet boat or PWC because you could suck up things into the intake

About a 2 feet shallower with a Jet Boat. Not WOT

I see people cruising their V drives all day, every day. Why do you say it is not for cruising.

Informative video, well done. I did chuckle when you said (on the I/O stern drive) "if my curser is a rock..." If it was a rock you would have bigger issues than the rock, unless you found a new type of floating rock. 😁 Thanks for posting, I was searching for the difference in a inboard vdrive and just the inboard. Great explanation.
