I agree on the loader. Obviously the lifting capacity is strong, but structurally I feel the design is weak. I feel they probably lightened the loader to increase lifting capacity, if that makes sense. When we are looking at specifications in a brochure, we are just comparing numbers, and numbers sell tractors. I actually recently tweaked my loader moving a downed tree on one of my trails…operator error no doubt, but in hindsight it tweaked pretty easily compared to my other tractors. Measuring pivot pins at SSQA, it was off 1.5” side to side. Quite alarming, but equally alarming was how easily I was able to tweak it back to normal. A few timbers under the low side of the bucket and some careful work with the joystick and I got back to within less than 1/8” side to side. Lesson learned, I’m going to be extremely careful with any off balance work with the loader.
@3DFarmingLife
@3DFarmingLife Күн бұрын
Sorry to hear that about your loader. I am glad you have it close to where it should be. I just hope that it doesn’t get worse or weaker. I really like my LS from what I am seeing they are going to a different loader on some of their tractors. You are right about specs on paper. It is easy to manipulate them to appear more attractive. I will say that the loader on my MT 573 has done good so far. I hope LS is listening to the concerns of their customers. That will make them a better tractor and more competitive. Thanks

Thanks…absolutely no visible damage. Wondered if it could be a bolted connection joint somewhere that slipped. Checked everything and all seemed tight. IMO, tractor loaders in general are structurally weak compared to other heavy equipment. Our LS’s are strong tractors with strong hydraulics. With a severe offset load and strong hydraulics, things can go sideways quick. I’m going to be much more careful moving forward. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your content.

That’s an interesting trailer to me. I have a farm and although I don’t make round bales, a lot of the neighboring farms do and have never seen a bale trailer like that. @mossman7527 Yes the LS has really been a great machine. It has been put to the test BUT not abused. Just every day stuff. 1000 lb bales are not that heavy for the tractor. It slings them around and you hardly notice them. Wow 1900lb bales are some heavy bale Especially for a 45hp. But it sounds like it is getting it done. Thanks as always be careful out there. I don’t care about the looks, I care about the quality and customer service. My experience with LS tractor has been terrible, the worst I have ever had. The loader frames are not thick and strong. The metal is weak and bent easily and it will even break in two. Parts are expensive and take to look to get. I have escalated problems that I have had to factory representatives and even had my tractor taken back to the plant in Battleboro NC and the problem where not resolved. They acted like they didn’t care and had an attitude because I wanted warranty work done. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND A LS TRACTOR!
@3DFarmingLife
@3DFarmingLife 3 күн бұрын
First thanks. I am sorry you have had problems and that they have not been resolved. Quality, durability and longevity of the machine is most important. I am interested in what LS model and year you had? From your comment it looks like you bent the loader frame and it broke. That is not good. Not sure about the other problems that you have had. I will NOT defend LS or any other company if they are not taking care of the customer. There is a need for ALL these companies to understand that without customers they will no longer exist. I understand your position and I don’t blame you for being upset. I do believe that ALL brands have lemons but they need to be address. So far we have had a good experience with the tractor that we have. But also I am reviewing this brand and trying my hardest to be fully transparent and honest. We are more likely to shout out the bad then to praise the Good. I hope the best for your situation. I also hope LS is doing something good to resolve and fix any and all customer service issues within the company. Thanks

Just for your info, from what I understand,SOMETIMES if you can get a LS part number, should be available online , you can add MT in front of the part number and it will cross with a New Holland part number. Most of the time the part may be cheaper and turn around time is also quicker. Maybe this will help you out. Your repair looks great and Im glad your ok. Take care and be safe out there !!

LS is definitely cheaper to buy but after 10 years of owning one, I can say the parts are expensive and poor quality. Metals that they use are weak, they bend and break easily and don’t have any spring tension strength. I use tractors with loaders for landscaping and I have broken 8 components on the LS Tractor and zero on John Deere, Kubota Massey Ferguson in 40 years of operating tractors. I’m currently waiting on a $500 part to come in that is taking 4 weeks to get and causing me downtime$ Only 630 hours on a XU5055 and I’m concerned about the amount of metal floating around in the front differential oil also. Not looking good

To my knowledge it is the same as the other LS tractors. Which is six-year limited powertrain warranty, including parts and labor, on most of the tractors. There is a two-year bumper to bumper. That is all I know for now and I could have missed something. Might check your dealer. They would know better than me. Thanks I hope I was some help.

Thanks for the review. My MT5 73 is a 1.5 years and has 350 hrs. Here are a few more comments to add to your list for your viewers. - Top link... Yes same here. I have to figure something better than an ugly bungee cord to hold it in place. - Steering wheel whining... Noticed the same thing, It was really screaming when I lifted a 1 ton bag of fertilizer and steering was very difficult so I was avoiding steering as much as possible when loading and unloading. It would probably benefit to have a counter balance on the 3 point hitch. - The beeping noise. Like your comment on the beeping. 😊 I have to figure a way to at least lower the sound level. It's like it's screaming at you all the time. - One thing to check is the bolts that hold the loader to the chassis. Make sure they are still tight after 100 hrs. Mine were starting to get loose. Has to do with being installed after the paint and the paint wearing off. Problems so far. 1- I had the EGR changed. Fault code F08. Every time when you put the key on you will hear it clicking 3 times. Mine started acting up after 211 hrs until it completely stop. Was under warranty but still had to pay to get it replaced because the dealer needs proof that it was replaced so you can't replace on your own. I was told to try and clean it at the beginning. It was actually not that dirty at all. 2- Radio stopped working after around 30 hrs. Replaced with a named brand with my own money. 3- Power Shuttle Transmission Switch. Lately I've been getting a F02 - 1000000 error code on startup. This is the code for a malfunctioning Power Shuttle Switch (The orange paddle in cab). The neutral light in the dash would also blink twice, (not sure if that has anything to do with the problem). You will get an exclamation mark in the dashboard and an ear full constant annoying high pitch sound.🤨 The tractor will not go into gear. And of course this will usually happen when you're in a rush to go bail the hay before it rains. :) I'll check to see if I can spray electronic cleaner in there, before I get it replaced. I keep the inside of the cabin decently clean. I'm 6ft tall and I find this tractor very comfortable to drive. I enjoy many of the hydraulic features on this tractor. I can lift 1 1/4 cords pallets of fire wood easily. I have not had any issues with the DPF regeneration. It does regenerate more often during the winter as compared to the summer when the tractor works harder. To me this tractor is a real charm. Thanks again for your effort to share. Keep it up. Rich
