Such a wonderful scene, and something guys in love with a platonic female friend dream about. But is not reality, and that's okay, it's a movie meant to be enjoyed. Reality is, Alyssa bolts and doesn't come back to kiss Holden after she tells him to go home... or... pretends to be okay, is dropped off and simply doesn't call again, ever. I've only ever transitioned from best friend to lover one time, she was my third wife, and she's gone now, discarded me because she was bored with me after 12 years. It is as great a feeling as they say in the beginning, but like all love, it's fleeting, fragile and is just as vulnerable to failure as all the others. I don't miss her anyway, she was a narcissist.

Been there. Had a crush on a colleague who was gay. Broke my heart when I found out and left me desperate. At some point, I had to tell her. She was totally cool. And when I asked if she felt mad or anything her answer was:"Why would I be? You are a straight man and I'm a woman. These things can happen and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm glad you told me." It was a relief. We have been close friends since. In fact, she saw my crush combined with the positive reaction as the ultimate test of friendship.

In eighth grade I fell in love with this girl. I know people say u cannot fall in love with someone that young. I have spent almost 5 years with this girl. I am not the type of person to run away either. I have tried changing my ways and my baby momma still doesn't want to try with me. I'm a fuck up but I keep telling myself that I can do this. I can live my life without her and move on. I just don't want too. I don't want her to be with anyone else but me. We have tried before with other people and I know I am not ready right now for any of this shit. Love is a very strong and powerful drug that you don't ever want to get addicted to.. and there isn't another person out there, because I don't want there to be. You know when u found the one and I feel like I found her and took every chance I had to having a happy life and fucked it up. I just want other people to realize that you don't need someone to make you happy, you need yourself. I miss my son and my baby momma everyday. I wish I could take everything back but I can't. I hope a lot of people will treat their females in their lives with the most respect. Because I don't want other people going through what I have too. But at the same time I think this is good for me, and I could never be able to get my own place and work on myself, if I am always worried about her and my baby. The entire point of this is because my baby momma doesn't understand how much I care she looks past all the small things and only focuses on the big. So I really need to make some big changes. If anyone out there has anger issues just reach out for help because there is always some out there no matter how long it takes u need to remember that you are doing that for you and once u get the help you need people will want to be around you. I yell a lot because that is just how I was raised in a loud asf house. I don't want my son living in the same house as me it made me feel like shit just having him here. It's gross and unsafe in my eyes and I try to put effort into things but it keeps getting worse. I am not calling for help because I have already been receiving as much as I can. I really just hope nobody makes the same mistakes I have made in my life, and they actually learn from them instead of flipping out or losing their shit to make everyone around you think you are crazy.. I never knew what " you're actions have consequences" meant until like a week ago.

Out of all performances by Ben Affleck in his acting career, Holden McNeil in this movie, and “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back” (2001), is his greatest role! Just, this confession of love hurts me because of how realistic it is, and how relatable, and I bet this is how someone wants to pour their heart out to the person they are in love with. And, in the next scene, the passionate kiss in the rain.

I really need to have this conversation with someone. She’s driving me crazy. 😢

I hate Ben Affleck and the crappy person he is in real life but will never deny of the fact that he's an incredibly talented actor and just how good he was in this movie.

This hurts to watch. I loved this movie until I fell in love with my best friend and was rejected. Couldn't bring myself to watch it until recently. It hurts to watch this scene because we are no longer best friends. I did not regret telling her how I felt I do regret losing my best friend though.

When i was younger, in highschool I never understood why people would fall in love and get so hung up on the person if it didn't work, like "just move on" would have been my reaction back then but after getting rejected, heart broken and now in a relationship and so in love with the man I'm with today I can totally understand the pain he felt and the fear she felt in this scene. Relationships and love can be beautiful but so scary bc when you give your heart to someone theres always the chance they will break it and a broken heart is one of the worst feelings in the world. It's hard to let go of someone that you've infested in so much time and energy too! Love is more in the brain then it is in the heart.. When that 1 person makes you feel that certain feeling, that feeling you you don't feel with anybody else.. It's like a drug, that person is your drug and when their gone you have to get use to life without them in it and learn to love somebody else again. She had a past and he was too insecure and immature at the time to accept it. They were good for eachother it was just bad timing, you can be with the right person at the wrong time and this was the case here. Haha sorry for the long typo. Movie really gets to me.
