You'd get much cleaner lines masking with Tamiya PVC tape, especially on curved surfaces. You can see in the video that paint has crept under the tape you used.

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt is the ugliest fighter in WWII. The only thing that matters is the engine power. Even with the same name, Mitsubishi Raiden (JACK) is more beautiful

Even atomic bombs were dropped on the heads of civilians. But the design is different. If you showed a military aircraft to someone who didn't know it at all, which would be more beautiful, a barrel-like airplane or a streamlined airplane? Even Japan people say the P51 is beautiful.

Invasion stripes were never perfect. They had no time to paint. Some ground crews used push brooms to get the paint on. I wish model manufacturers would replicate Invasion stripes more accurately

Congratulations, a work of art! One question: how to avoid smearing of paint, especially when painting metal around the windshield or how to wipe off excess paint?

@milanstojicic5315 well i usually tape the windshield, and that does the trick. But another way is to soak a toothpick in thinner and use that to clean the windshield. Whatever thinner cleans the brand of paint you have. Hopfully that helps! Model on!

What did you use to apply the exhaust stains - brush and media? Like the effect. How did you chip the paint such as on the spinner? Looks great. Last, to dull down the disparity of the alum panels, I might have mixed a dot or so of gray in w the clear coat.

@ they only came in bubble canopy ones, the D was late war, the early D-RE ones were the Razorbacks, the D models themselves were just bubbpe

Try using Ammo/MIG Ultra glue. It works like super glue, but looks like the old school Elmer's glue. Formulated for PE parts. Great stuff.

Bob Smith Industries Insta-Set is GREAT for setting Super Glue and model glue. AMAZING stuff and it goes a LONG way.

I haven’t yet found any acrylic aluminum/NMF that looks as good as Alclad II lacquers. But I have heard some people getting great results with AK extreme metal (I think that’s what it is), though I don’t know if that’s acrylic, enamel or lacquer. That said, the Vallejo you used near the exhaust stacks looked pretty dang good! Nice build over all! Looking forward to building my mighty eighth boxing and the P-51B they released

Nice comparison, there is a pilot figure with the Airfix. Also you missed the kit gives you the gun bay detail. There are scored lines if you want to open the doors. The advantage is avoiding poor fitting panels if you wanted them closed.

I have REFUSED to buy Eduard kits ever since they fucked up the decals. I suggest everyone else do the same. Force them to switch to the traditional film.
