hello, which umbrella does budgeting apps fall under?
@JeremyQuainoo12 күн бұрын
Budgeting apps typically fall under the **Personal Finance Management (PFM)** domain within fintech. This domain focuses on helping individuals manage their finances, including budgeting, tracking expenses, managing savings, and sometimes even investing. Budgeting apps are designed to provide users with tools and insights to better understand and control their financial situation, often integrating with bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial services to give a comprehensive view of personal finances.

Hi, I've done a bachelor's in commerce specializing in finance and am currently preparing for my ACCA exams. Should I do a Master in Fintech along with ACCA or after ACCA (with little work experience)? It almost takes me around 1 year to complete ACCA, but after 6 months, I can start practicing ACCA. Or is it better to complete a master's in fintech along with ACCA and enter the industry as a fresher after a master's and ACCA certification? Would I be able to land well pay job after my graduation ? Your valuable opinion would really help me !!!!

JQ, what’s up boss. Okay so I realized most banks if not all are leveraging on digitalization strongly to enhance their offering, plus the use of AI to interface with consumers. Would you say there is a blend or dual functionality in their offering, ie playing the role of traditional banks and neo banks at the same time or just entirely distinct when it comes to the two banking roles?
@JeremyQuainooАй бұрын
Hi Nii, yes definitely been a while. To your question, a traditional bank can't be classified as a neobank simply by embarking on a digitization or digitalization drive. Unless they are able to completely do away with all physical branches or at the very least ensure all transactions done in those branches are migrated to mobile or digital channels, they will remain a traditional bank with a digital offering. The premise of a neobank is to maximize the advantage of not having physical overheads at all, which translates into advantages in the digital offering when it comes to reduced fees and preferential interest. I hope that makes sense.

Am always interested in paytech in ghana. Could you please tell us more about regulation and license we need to start and the cost involved
@JeremyQuainooАй бұрын
To start a PayTech company in Ghana, you'll need to obtain a Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from the Bank of Ghana, which regulates the industry under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987). Depending on your services, you may require an Enhanced or Standard PSP License, or an Electronic Money Issuer (EMI) License. These licenses are essential for offering payment services, mobile money, or electronic payments in Ghana.

I’ve been to many fintech conferences. When large organizations such as JPMorgan Chase and VISA present, I usually role my eyes. Their content is always basic at best and never useful. You however are quite impressive. I wish the world had 1000s more like you. It’s obvious you have dedication to your craft. Much respect. Thank you for the knowledge share. So rare these days.

My brother complete intermediate degree as a medical student And now he can choose BS FINTECH It is better than other fields ?
@JeremyQuainooАй бұрын
A BS in FinTech can be a great choice if your brother is interested in finance and technology, offering strong career prospects in a growing industry. However, it's quite different from medicine, so he should consider whether his passion aligns more with tech and finance or with continuing in the medical field.

Hello Jeremy, I'm from Mexico and I am looking for how to implement KYC, maybe you could give me some idea of how to do it? or do you know someone who could guide me on how to do it, I appreciate your comments.
@JeremyQuainooАй бұрын
To implement KYC procedures in Mexico, familiarize yourself with local regulations from the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV). Develop a comprehensive KYC policy covering customer identification, document verification, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, and record-keeping. Collect and verify essential customer information using reliable sources and categorize customers based on risk levels. Employ tech for digital onboarding, automated verification, and monitoring. Train employees on KYC policies, maintain accurate records, and establish a reporting mechanism for suspicious activities. For tailored guidance, consider consulting local experts or financial compliance firms.
