Thanks! Ive noticed in the past, the Cowichan sounds three tones on an occasion. I suspect either it’s a ‘sometimes’ thing, or perhaps they’re only pulling the lever two thirds of the way. The Inspiration has seemingly sounded different every day since late 2022 🤣 And yes, the announcement got cut off haha.

@@ncscapture1417 Perhaps the Cowichan has to do with how fast the pull the lever down. They have also started with the lever and finished with the button before, though this doesn't sound like it. The Spirit of BC was very sneaky with the Kahlenbergs this summer too, every time I heard it this summer there was no announcement whatsoever! One time they sounded the standard horn really early when entering the pass, then randomly sounded the Kahlenberg off Mary Anne Point with no warning! Nice you got a good recording of it.

@@ollieboy4817 That could definitely be a contributing factor too... out of many I'm sure. I've noticed all whistles sound at a higher pitch during the summer, perhaps from heat or humidity, that could be part of it too. I consider myself lucky to have captured the Kahlenberg Whistle either way... that is funny though.

I really did luck out 😎 I can never seem to get used to the smaller layout on Alberni, especially for a two-hour sailing. I always felt as though she’d be a better fit for BCF 2 or 3. Neat little vessel regardless!

@@ncscapture1417No I did not! I really want to hear this end sound! I think her normal Tsawassen end is used at Swartz bay and her Duke Point end is used at Tsawassen, and I haven’t ridden her yet… I want to sometime soon! Apparently one of her ends sounds horrible

Seems the Inspiration is the best cared for of the coastal class. I’ve heard her DP crew love her and consider her to be their ship.

Oh awesome! I arrived at Tsawwassen at around 17:00 to see my friend depart on the 17:45 towards Duke Point, and I just saw you entering the pass.
