Well that was my experience with that car. I probably been unlucky with it a little bit more than some other people but what I can tell you is nothing like a bmw but most parts are bmw and mechanics they charge a lot of money for this car and parts because it’s a little complicated car to work on it. I personally I will never buy one again just because for what it cost and what it offers it just doesn’t make sense for me. If you do get one I will suggest to get a warranty on it

What I love about this car is that it has enough performance to hold its own today. 20 years ago it was absolutely insane. Performance is more than just straight lines, and this car is just as good in dynamics as straight-line. This car is like a next level from the E39 M5, everything just feels more solid and more excessive. I guess the best thing about it is that it is a complete enigma, pretty much nobody will ever know what a special car you have. The ultimate sleeper sedan.

I absolutely agree with you 💯% And sometimes drives me crazy how people think it’s impossible to own. Yes it’s more expensive and complicated than the E55 amg or E39 M5 but honestly all of them they are expensive. Yes this Audi may be a little more expensive but the exclusivity and experience of this car makes up for it. Anyway I am happy someone else knows this car because some car people say it’s a cool car but they are very few who knows this car. Hope you have one yourself to 🥂

Unfortunately unless you go through the risky grey market import process you’ll have to wait for the 25 year rule to expire. Non US versions have different light configurations and emissions that the gov will freak over

Copart online vehicle auctions are a scam. Period. The fact that they allow International bidding is bullshit enough. But it is quite apparent they participate in "Shill Bidding," in which they allow Coparts employess or agents, acting as other bidders, to artificially drive up the price of these vehicle auctions. So, an obviously totalled vehicle that's realistically worth about $800 of scrap metal, gets sold for over $4,000 on the Copart auction...not including all the bullshit fees they add on at tge end after you've won the auction. FUCK COPART.

I bought a 2004 Cooper S with 15K miles. It now has 26K miles with zero problems so far. I am going to trade it for a 2013 JCW R57, but not because the car is faulty in any way.

Well from my experience they are not worth it. If you got a very low mileage it’s good but mine didn’t have that many and still broke down. I was putting and putting money on it all the time. Almost everything it’s bmw parts and doesn’t drive like a bmw at all.

I’m interested in buying one I found for 9k with 104 thousand miles but has a salvage title due to something with the bank repossesing it or something but has no accidents and I’m not sure where to stand Beacuse everyone says don’t even think about it but for that price and mileage I think it’s good but the dealer also said it needs new brakes all around

I think it’s a really good deal. Now if you never had a sports car before it’s going to cost you a little. It’s not a cheap car to maintain but what I can tell you is me personally owning 2 of them and still own this one I never really had to spend anything on it except the oil change. However on mine I have evap leak that’s the only thing I am having on my car other than that 4 years of ownership almost not a single problem. People talk lots of crap about this car but considering how special and rare and unique this on is it’s absolutely worth the money. I can’t stretch inof how special it truly is. And again if you never owned a v8 before or a sports car it’s going to be expensive but if you can afford it it will make up for it. Again mine it’s pretty low mileage so I haven’t spent any money on it yet however it’s coming up a big service soon at 50k miles. I personally want to buy another one and do an engine swap or something crazy because I just love the body style of this car so much. Anyway I personally would say buy if you can afford to spend some money but if you never owned a sports car you should probably stay away because it’s expensive on gas as well because it really drinks so gas and honestly evry v8 drinks lots of gas. Anyway do your research and think about it and see if that makes sense for you because this car it’s not for everyone. It’s either you love it or hate it and because the social media makes it seem impossible to own. Anyway let me know if you end up getting it 🥂

It’s expensive but honestly every performance sedan or sports cars are expensive. Maybe this one it’s slightly more expensive then some others but considering how rare it is and unique and special it is it makes up for it. At least for me. I won’t give up this car for anything. Very very deeply in love with this one

No no nothing. This one I had for almost 4 years and expect a evap nothing else. Never left me stranded or anything. It’s pretty low miles but the other one I had prior to this had 120k miles still not a single problem for 2 years. How many miles you got on yours?

Bro who said it will happen to everyone. I spoke for myself and gave my honest opinion and experience with this car and that’s it. I am not a hater at all I can care less about this car. I simply sheared my experience and how doesn’t make sense to own one for how much it cost and for what it is. It’s definitely not worth. Now you can agree or disagree but that’s the truth about those cars they are bmw parts and it’s not even close to drive like a bmw. It’s a nightmare to work on them and expensive. Go head now because I am sure you think probably different because you own one. I personally don’t like this car and I will never own a mini again and thats my opinion about this brand. It’s just not worth the money for what it is even the S ones. Good luck with your mini till you get to see your first bill. Again no hate no disrespect simply my opinion and preference that’s it.

Honestly I have it for almost 4 years and they have lots of electronics and still the battery in perfect condition. The only thing I am having it’s the gas leak wich I am waiting to get one of my other cars and drop this one. But other than that never had a single problem with it. I'm glad too, but the reason is real. If you cannot work on your own car, the Audi Dealership will 'rip you a new one' to work on these because labor charges are high, for a lot of the common repairs...

I have one. Bought it for $21,000 in 2016 with 80,000 miles, it now has 108k. The RS6 sold new in 2003 for a base price of $85,000. Only approximately 1000 units were shipped to all of North America for one year only, 2003. Mine is silver with white leather and carbon fiber interior trim. No major repairs. I've maintained it and tracked it. Being a former Porsche racer, my stock RS6 performed like a race car at Laguna Seca, staying in front of race prepared cars. I absolutely love my 2003 RS6 and will never sell it. I did replace the timing belt at 96k miles and did a full factory 100,000 mile maintenance, expensive but necessary. The biggest potential for failure is the transmission/torque converter. No one in the San Francisco bay area has the ability to repair or replace. Removal, shipping, repair, and replacement will set you back $10,000. The Dynamic Ride Control System (DRC) was way ahead of it's time. If does fail, it's best and cheaper to just covert to a standard coil-over suspension.

This car it really deserves way more but I think and believe people will appreciate it way more once it becomes classic. Year old post but....Fuel Tank leak--There is an active Recall for reinforcing around the tank for the Rollover valve. Good news is yours is leaking as that means you most likely get a new tank for free. If it's not leaking yet they just pile a bunch of Epoxy filler around the valve.

No no actuality its still in time strangely 😅 I took it somewhere and this mechanic told me to replace the fuel tank and i still haven’t fixed yet and its giving me the engine light on the dash because of that and breaks my heart even tho i drive it very little. I am going to fix this problem very soon because i really really love driving this car and spending time with it. I am going to find an Audi specialist and fix it. So for this what you saying i have to take down the fuel tank to put the Epoxy ?

I have a 2003 RS6 6 speed swapped misano red with black interior. It’s currently in pieces in my garage as I have to swap the trans and clutch out since it blew its rear output shaft o ring and ate at least the 3rd gear synchro 😢 even in the Manual ones, the trans is still a headache. However nothing has come close to how special it drives and feels being in it so I’m willing to put up with it. I was driving it in Wyoming when I purchased it, as I pulled into a WalMart, a guy ran up to the car and immediately knew what it was. He had his own C5 A6 avant. He said “I saw the body and then realized it was Misano Red and went what the fuck because I know it had to be an RS6 and could not believe I was seeing an RS6 in Wyoming”

You should also not buy one post 2017 due to the OPF/DPF/GPF hiking up service costs by approximate 1400 a year not to mention they sound terrible and lose their crackle and pop.

Got to do your homework on the maintenance history of these cars. Cheap ones are cheap for a reason. Also get a manual transmission. Mini automatic transmission sux. Get a lady friend to work on that facial hair. Bro, it's a mess, just saying.
