World statistics can be surprising sometimes. I would have thought the nordic countries would be the fastest, but this also makes sense, because they are small rich and newly prosperous countries (so maybe the installation of the infrastructure is newer). Also data changes by year dpending on many factors, next year the countries may have changed. In this case all the top countries have very fast speeds, higher than anyone would actually need, so the differences among the top are not that important. Significant differences can be seen between the last places and the top places like Cuba vs Singapore, etc.

That's right. Chile is one of the most developed countries in the Americas, Singapore is one of the most developed Asian Countries, and United Arab Emirates (where Dubai is) is one of the most developed Middleastern countries. All of these countries have a small and rich population and in average have a higher speed connection. Although I am sure that a lot of people in the US have faster internet because of the big and rich population, the average of the whole population is a little bit lower.

Germany would be third place. But that's the way they compited through time because of historic reasons like WWII, the division of Germany into East and West, and their reunification into one after the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
