I believe that BA loads the catering for inbound flights to London and Dubai on the outbound flights. The food isn’t catered in Dallas or Dubai. I’ve had meals from both Portland and Jeddah to London - I am pretty certain those were catered at Heathrow and carried on the outbound flight.

Love seeing your perspective - most flight reviews are solo travelers so I really appreciate the perspective of a couple. If I'm not mistaken you had to climb over someone else's feet to get out into the aisle, right? Did your companion have the same issue? How bad was it?
@ModifydCD
@ModifydCD Ай бұрын
I had to climb over someone from my side of things but if you get the seats at the bulk head then the other person doesnt have anyone to step over. And that is also on the right side of the of the aircraft. The opposite side will have the person closest to the window not walking over someone. And to be honest. It wasnt bad at all. My neighbor wasnt really laid out until they were ready to sleep. I slept through the night and by the tie I was ready to move around again they were up and not reclining anymore

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Happy to hear you are doing well. I found out recently that I will need my aortic valve replaced. My surgery is scheduled for exactly 1 month from tomorrow. I haven’t had as much time to think about it as you have, and maybe that’s a good thing. Emotionally, I’m doing okay right now but my wife is having a bit of a hard time. I never had any health issues prior to this as a 38 year old man. She is strong and will help me get through this but I realized I also need to be here for her as we prepare since she will be seeing me in a very weak state and caring for me, which is unusual in our 17 year relationship.

October 2024 -- I just flew back from LHR on the Brit Air A380 -- wonderful aircraft. Premium Economy was almost like a regular plane's Bus. Class. The seats were extraordinarily comfortable, the bedding was fairly lux, but the TV screen was not very luminous or responsive. I bought some Fortnum & Mason cheese in LHR's duty-free and put their big turquoise cooler bag in one of the two giant cubby holes that were against the outer hull of the plane, which kept them chilled for the 11-hour flight. (Both both had snap-down lids). The other cubby was big enough for my backpack and my leather jacket- and I had my wheelie in the overhead compartment- more room than I could use. I took three good naps during the long trans-Atlantic flight. Just booked another r/t on the A380 - in Business Class.

@@ModifydCD Likely, London to Dubai is a more competitive route. To make the A380 trip the greatest, you have to have a window seat to get those cubby holes that line the body of this jet. I know Premium Economy has them, and coach must have them, too.

Nice review! I think the new configuration on the 777-300 is much nicer. However, like AA the food and service on BA can be hit or miss. The first time I flew on BA in J was back in 1998 when they were amazing (and before they joined One World with AA) and I have not flown in coach on any flight over 4 hours since then and I use miles and cc points to make it happen, along with sacrifice in other areas. I have always thought AA was a bad influence on BA as they use to be such a superior hard & soft product. Anyway, new sub … you won me over with the pre-meal prayer! First week of October is my surgery. 39 years old, bicuspid aortic valve with moderate to severe regurgitation and ascending aortic aneurysm 4.9cm. I met many surgeons and i decided who it will be. He will send back to the company that makes the corcym haart annuloplasty rings my data from my CT coronary angiography and my transesophageal ultrasound so that they say the success rate of going for aortic valve repair. If surgeon gets the green light that's plan a. But that means full sternotomy. If not minimally invasive benthal with the corcym bicarbon mechanical valve, which needs low anticoagulation from day 1 and uou can even stop sintrom for 4-5 days safely and have another procedure (dental for instance). I just returned from the capital to the island where i stay by plane. Next week i travel there with wife cause months ago,before knowing or expecting any of this, we got into a program for in vitro fertilization. And after i give sperm in a couple of days i go into surgery. Which means my wife isn't and won't be there with me. My parents will. They are not ok. They are afraid and crying and miserable even though they don't want me to see. But i see it. I am in a shock still. I feel like all this is happening to another person and not me. Or that i will wake up and it was just s bad dream. I feel like i am out of my body, disassociated up to a level. I'm afraid of the aneurysm till the day of the surgery cones and for the afterwards. I feel like it will never be ok again. I'm afraid but primarily I'm shocked. A few days ago i was planning my year, job , master's degree, family and now....is this really happening to me?
