It is hard to go wrong with Ludwig. The toms (in particular) sound great. If it sounds this good with just overhead, it should be killer when fully miked up. Nice playing too.

Good eye David. I own around 80 snares. When I ordered my 7 piece Ludwig kit from Monroe, NC, the snare came with it, 7ply American Maple. From time to time I switch up my snares on my different kits.
