Chester would've not agreed with you. When he replaced Scott Weiland in Stone Temple Pilots, that band was contemplating on changing their name and Chester convinced them to keep it.

@jariemonah Chester's not some god, he's a man that poops and pees just like you and I. My opinion doesn't magically change just because he might disagree. STP should have chosen a different name as well. Audioslave did it best, instead of having their fans expect a RAtM sound and besmirching a legacy, they made a new name when they adopted Cornell as their frontman. I like the band's new sound with Emily, but lets all be honest with ourselves, they sound more like Dollar Store Paramour than Linkin Park.

@ So hilarious that you're telling me that Chester's not a god while suggesting they change the name because you think Chester's voice made the band. Mike Shinoda is responsible for 90% of Linkin Park.

@jariemonah You're missing the point in your gotcha attempts, but that's okay. I don't mind elaborating. The band wouldn't sound the same without Shinoda either and they should change their name if he were missing as well. The entire band is a team that works together to make a sound but the reality is that bassists, drummers, and guitarists are easier to replace and still have the same sound than frontmen. Recognising irreplaceable talent for what it is and worshipping a celebrity are two different things. You tried though.

Not at all. They should have changed their name and they still could have banked on their former popularity. Some bands can replace their singer no problem. The Linkin Park sound isn't just the instruments, it's Chester, and without his irreplaceable voice, the sound isn't the same. Now Linkin Park basically sounds like Dollar Store Paramore.

Thank you very much! Yes I don't think those songs are made to be overplayed, I believe it's way harder to stay focus, stay close to the chart and not fall in your old drum habits. I will definitely learn the whole album, but I will be recording a band at the studio when they will release it :/
