Love Stardew Valley! Even from your brief scan over the map I think there have been additions since I last played - I must make time to pick it back up again.

"You think killing folks is counter-productive, so these land-mines will only throw a bunch of dirt up, to scare them off" - this is why when at the starting screen, you walk across the minefield, you survive all the explosions. Funny way to combine game design and lore

Real talk, this is the most boring story I've ever heard. Maybe it gets better once you have invested enough time and energy into it to say "If this story sucks, then I just wasted all of that time. This is unacceptable. Therefore, the story is amazing, and people just don't get it. Because they're ugly."

I'm really excited to see your perspective on this game. I've enjoyed playing it myself and it's been a ton of fun. One of these days I'd love to see your impressions of the other Stardew Valley-alikes, such as Littlewood and Fields of Mistria, who seem to have a different twist on things. ETA: Edit however you feel! I'm happy for seeing you get through the game. Editing out tedium is perfectly fine; I know how games work out. Also I appreciate you using cheats. You should be allowed to curate your own experience, and a game should respect your time. (These kind of games only save at the end of the day which can make them difficult for going casual).

I love the comment "this could be a puzzle element" from analyzing what is happening around you, when it was, in fact, a puzzle element 15 seconds ago. (Not intended for new players in the tutorial, of course)

Honestly one of my favorite games of all time. You ever considered a nodded Stardew playthrough? Stardew Valley Expanded adds a fair amount to the game, including new farms, characters, areas, monsters, fish, tasks, and a whole lot more.

Whoah, it's this game. Sounds like some very reasonable usage of cheats you've got planned. I feel like the routine parts of this game also usually don't take very long, so it's probably not entirely necessary to cut them out, but do what you want. I guess if you get really into preserves jars and kegs it can take a while to deal with them all, but if you're not planning on the golden clock money grind then there's probably no need to get making extreme amounts of money. Looking forward to seeing what the community center rolled.

Watering, fishing (waiting), and long walks across town are the most likely light-editing to do, as I don't like having much 'dead air'. Three in-game days per episode will actually work well to average around hour-long episodes, which is on the long side for episodes, but ensures the series stays moving at a decent pace so I can finish before the heat death of the universe (this can be such a long game :D )

Like, I do get the message of this game that we are too caught up in the hyperindustrialisation, manufacturing and measuring everything in unseen before ways and so on. But come on, if I received THAT MUCH LAND as an inheritance, I'd sell it and proceed to redistribute it into my current style of life. That isn't even remotely fair, you inherit more land than the entire village combined

If only there were a way to take out a mortgage to get access to early money, so it would not be such a long grind up the money and tech stack :) But I guess fun game mechanics work against realism

The other thing is that as the game progresses you actually become the town's wealthiest citizen and the key to all their economic success, which is scary and very fragile.

Well, that first puzzle is certainly different with the cape. ...and that second puzzle is certainly different if you don't know yet that you can re-summon shadows whenever there aren't any shadows. 43:37 I think this puzzle is actually much cooler without the cape, due to the added difficulty of getting the silver bell rung. Good solve with your current tools though. 47:46 Hooray for science!

3:45 "There's no coming back from the gold bell" You found an interesting alternative solution, but there is a way back from the gold bell. Step on the top left crumbling tile then down, then left to the bell. On the way out you cape-jump over the gap to the bottom right crumbling tile and leave without issue.

16:53 Yeah, that looks way easier than never realizing that surrounding yourself with two air elementals lets you use one to start a whoosh chain. I mean, getting to the bell is still easy enough, but I remember spending a lot of time going for that gem in the upper-left. I'm sure your earlier realization about air elementals will help.

The "running man" icons are almost certainly the Eye of Horus from Egyptian myth. A mystical all-seeing eye representing (as Wikipedia has it) well-being, healing and/or protection, if not also ritual, fits reasonably well with special-move secrets that lead to good things.

The breakthrough I had with Tidal Reef is that getting the blue runestone from the boss room is solvable without unlocking the specific elemental. Cause you can't get access to any other blue gems in the map since they are all gated by the runestone locks

At this point I'm guessing that the arrow puzzles are somehow overlapping. You overlap start/end arrows that are the same, and end up with a longer total combination. Like the invisible line instructions end with left up, main instructions start with left up, end with up right, and flags instructions start with up right.

I'm not familiar with any Clyceer who made progress early in the water area, but hey, whatever gets you back here and making progress. :) 7:32 I just now understood that the water switches have a moon on them because the moon controls the tides. I'd been wondering why the one with the water down didn't have a sun on it. I dunno, maybe I realized it before and then forgot later. 12:20 I wonder if there are any elementals you can get active without the corresponding runestone. I feel like runestones/elementals block too many gems, but can't say I've counted it up. While giving up here wasn't great for immediate progress, it's at least interesting. 47:01 Ah, a guess for where the water elementals will form. That's a useful thing to do.

> not familiar Hmm, I was also watching someone else's early twitch vods, so I might have misremembered who made early progress on the water area. That said, I am heartened by the fact that I have seen a lot of questions on the Steam discussion forums from folks who are stuck on the start of the water area, so I'm not alone :)

10:43 Oh, this move where you use the cloud to get the top part done with only one elemental makes me realize that there are a lot more holes in this puzzle now. It used to be possible to simply jump to the green switch with the cape. There are also four more holes in the top section to make the complete path holes, instead of just blocking off the first two tiles. Also, now that I'm comparing side by side with an old version, the walls all look different: less purple, more blue. Anyway, there definitely used to be more solutions, but it seems at least more like you have to do it the intended way now.

The wooshies, sliding mechanics, cape, and clouds all combine to make some pretty hard to visualize puzzles in this area. Good progress! Seems like the large water island is the big problem area at the moment - I wish I could say I saw how to proceed last time you were there, but I'm at just as much of a loss, so instead I will say good luck!
