Very good video! I am new user of Luxriot and am confused by the set up and use. I have 1 PTZ camera - outdoors, that i set up for a 20 position patrol. I want the camera to go to each location for a minute before traveling to the next position, It is set up to always record, everything. I would like the camera to remain on a position if it detects motion and remain and continue recording for an additional one minute before pointing to the next position on the patrol list. I am concerned about intruders in a rural location. How do I set this up?
@CCTVnerd
@CCTVnerd 4 ай бұрын
Well, first of all, this is not a good idea IMHO. This setup looks like - I have 20 cameras, but 1 of them is working simultaneously. PTZ should be used as a support for stationary cameras, not as a replacement. In my opinion, it is better to instal a few stationary cameras, and if there is intrusion detection on one of them - move PTZ to the given preset point. What PTZ do you have right now?

@@CCTVnerd I agree with your explanation. I usually use multiple cameras set up in a "stand off" position, with the peripheral image of each camera covering at least one other camera. This works well in urban areas, but in this case the situation is different. The location is rural and there is plenty of crime, however it is not possible to string up POE cameras in this area. There is only one nearby mains electrical source. The objective is to identify the date, time and some type of visual image 24/7 of the perpetrators ( 3 acre area) . I do not need face shots or LPR at this time. I was very impressed with your KZbin video!! Details: I have a d/n Uniview PTZ 25X mounted 30 feet on a utility pole. I purchased the UNV because it was supported by LuxRiot software. I usually use Luxriot for multiple camera applications and it has worked well. Later, I found this UNV PTZ model was not supported by Luxriot but it was compatible with ONVIF. I used ONVIF software to talk with the camera and LuxRiot, but am stuck in a wormhole. Any ideas?

@@crimestoppers1877 so 2 options: Option 1 - use camera interface - most cameras support advanced tours, where the camera moves from preset to preset and on each preset you can configure motion detection or intrusion detection, and if there is object - they start autotracking. So check if you can do this on camera. Then it doesn't require Luxriot configuration. Maybe just "enable tour" custom button that will send API command to camera to start the tour on given time. Option 2 - Luxriot configuration. You setup presets in Luxriot and trigger them in a schedule, but you can add "condition" to them, that will be ON/OFF depending on the motion or analytics event. But there is a problem - does this camera disable motion automatically when its moving from preset to preset? Otherwise it will trigger motion everytime it moves. Or if its only one camera - you can try VCA, you should have at least 1 channel for free with your license. So it should be: 1. Disable VCA 2. Go to preset 1 3. Enable VCA 4. Delay 1 minute 5. disable VCA IF condition is OFF 6. Go to preset 2 IF condition is OFF and so on 1. VCA rule - if person detected SET condition to ON 2. Delay X minutes 3. SET condition to OFF + add one rule that will restart the tour every 20 minutes or something. You can even add counters to count number of times each preset is set and depend preset based on the counter value. You can read more about conditions on chapter 69 (he he he) Understanding conditions of the user manual.

@@CCTVnerd WOW! Excellent , now time for lots of reading. When I first read about the Video Analytics feature( once instance only) I thought I might try something like this. The tech at the camera supplier told me AFTER I bought the gear that there was no VCA feature allowed on this version of Luxriot? Whatever it is worth I will try your suggestions but IMHO the User Interface on Luxriot sucks. It is designed mainly to support razzle dazzle marketing to the System Integrator. I recall years ago when the only way to get privacy or sensitive areas on a camera view is buying a whole separate piece of equipment called a VMD= Video Motion Detector at a $1,000 and that could not tell the difference between leaves moving or shadows moving. I'll keep in touch. My main "claim to fame" in this business is actually capturing and identifying criminals. But in California, that means nothing. The only worry the criminals had was "how did you catch me?" Like I am going to tell them for next time?

@@crimestoppers1877 I prefer systems that deter the intruder - so 140dB IP speaker is a must. As for the user interface - well, you haven't tried Genetic or Milestone. For me LX is clear and considering how many advanced things you can do - it has a very simple interface.

I wonder how that compares to their 25x zoom models? It looks about the same as my SD49225T-HN with it's 25x zoom, though of course it's hard to tell from this.
@CCTVnerd
@CCTVnerd 11 ай бұрын
Image quality should be similar because both use the same IMX307 sensor now, the difference is in the range (and it is a few hundred meters more for 45x zoom, because it is 177mm lens, not 120mm) BUT, it's hard to get max zoom on 45x in most scenarios. this 177mm lens has F5.0 aperture at max zoom. So this means it has 2x less light compared to 25x module (3.5 aperture at max). So long story short - 25x is more universal, with a great price/quality/range ratio. 45x is good for well-light, city surveillance, and airport type scenario.

The second option - Asteria Box - is their mini server with nVidia GPU on board, they have one for 4, 8, and 16 cameras.
