Beautiful! How much does it cost (approx) to build a layout like this up to this point?
@thetrainroom8 күн бұрын
20000-30000€. I stopped counting. But the most expensive thing is the rent of the room, which is over time more than we spent on the layout.

Beautiful model railroad. Magnus new car will never be as good or last as long as his old Saab. If he's stuck in a snowstorm he'll freeze to death. People need to stop being sheep and stop buying into the electric car scam. It's a SCAM to make certain people rich and make YOU dependent on THEM. With electric, you're just charging your overpriced, non permanent, temporary car with one fuel that has consumed so much energy being turned into yet another fuel, that it's almost counterproductive. The amount of energy it takes to turn one energy into another is ridiculous. Gasoline and diesel are pulled from the ground and can be refined from their own waste. With electric, you take coal, burn it, pollute the air, heat the atmosphere, turn it into electricity, send it out and store it in batteries that degrade much faster than an ICE engine. Electric cars don't have the range of ICE nor the speed or convenience of refueling. Windmills are being found to not even recover the energy it takes making them, maintaining them with all the oil and destroying them when they retire. Solar panels reflect so much heat back into the atmosphere that they should be illegal and are themselves the biggest contributor of so called climate change. Electric cars aka oversized golf carts are extremely dangerous and volatile in accidents and when they burn they can't be put out until the extremely toxic fuel igniting the fire itself is consumed. Lastly if you dent or damage the underside of that electric car it compromises the battery and the replacement is as much as the car, just for running over road debris.

He still has a even older Saab we havn’t shown and a 2CV. Nobody in Norway is buying a ICE cars anymore.

Hello, great and helpful tutorials you have, but can you publish more information about those resistors that you are using. I search the web and saw that they are different watts etc.... I am asking because i am complete noob in electronics. I want to try to convert some of my locos and i have some really older ones .Thank you.

I use 1/4 W. There is so little current, it is difficult to try. Or watch this kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2jNmIJne8SXrdU and this kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpzHlaiBidd-qKc I talk more about LED there.

The waterfall turn out a bit too big. When it is that big, the whole plain is usually flooded. During try season it usually is barely visible, but that would be boring.

Hi, could I control the turning motor by Märklin’s M83 decoder and if I could, how it happens?
@thetrainroom3 ай бұрын
Yes, we use k83 (old version of the M83) and clones of it. Connect the blue and yellow cable accordingly and that's it. Read the manual, it's written in it. static.maerklin.de/damcontent/98/b7/98b7e1f65779adce75e2b0c9057fb0741467727670.pdf

What happens if something goes wrong ie a loose connection inside mountain ? Very clever
@thetrainroom3 ай бұрын
You mean the mountain with the cable car? It's totally hollow and I can stand in it. The layout is built with that problem in mind, because if you can't access it, it will be the place where it fails. There is no places which cannot access, some are just more difficult.

Mine is new and on the way to Australia, It will be for the IC 2020 cars and I have a full 9 car set from Roco including the AC driving trailer. I use the Roco close couplers for the set without issue but my existing Hag 460 is too close coupled so I had to use a standard coupler between the loco and the first car. I can travel at some speed over double slips with the control car leadiing. The new version seems to have more sounds than any other Loco I have but maybe the same as my Marklin Re620 just the 460 has many more station announcements. Thanks for the info about this Loco and you did very well considering English is not your first language, well done Ausgeziechnet!

I found the problem. On the version of cars I have they built a wrong part, which causes the derailrement. Unfortunately I was told of the problem, long after the warranty period was over.

I'm N-scale... but I propose a system that can have better conductivity and avoid these little stops: make the whole part between the rails metal and therefore conductive. It is the system used here in Spain by Ibertren in their 3N system (sort of a copy of the Märklin system but for N scale in the 1970s, which was not successful). You can search for an image of "Ibertren 3N desvío" to see what I mean. Thanks for your videos.

Couldn't you let the contact points come through the road. Feels like a better solution than the wire.
@thetrainroom5 ай бұрын
The studded contact are lower than the top of the rails, which the road needs to fill. Also Sven Magnus chose this solution due to the fact that his father had used for many years with success. My philosophy is functionality over looks: If it doesn't work, it doesn't help at it looks good.

Thanks this review 👍 Would have been interesting to see the wagon running with short couple.... Isn't that a bit too orangey? and LED with luminous walls 🤔 Its something fishy and it should have been interesting to see them gone backwards.
@thetrainroom6 ай бұрын
As said, they were out ours, so I didn't want to start with big modifications. The orangey colour is due to the colour temperature in the room. It doesn't get dark in Norway at the moment, so outside light is very cold, which intensify the warm of the car. They used normal warm-white LED. I passed all issues to manufacturer already.
