Had my reverser out twice now.. broken tractor kit.. Quick question before I install for the sceond time... Did your input shaft and output shaft spin freely and independent of each other after the second time you had it apart?

@@tdm8817 Ok, that may be where I messed up the 1st time. I think the fwd clutch pack wasnt disengaged and still compressed from where I had it in the press to place snap ring in. I used my impact to put the nut on the output shaft knuckle and I noticed it free spinning loosely without movement of the input shaft (which wasnt the case the 1st time, there were engaged and I couldnt move them separately). When I installed it, barely enough tq to move an inch and took forever to go fwd to rev and vise versa. Didnt "bump" into gear like it used to. Btw, all clutches looked just fine, my fwd clutch spring was broken into 3 pieces. Thats the only damage I could find.

@@tdm8817 Ive used a couple Stihl carbide chains and the last 3 I bought were zentop. The first 2 zentop were semichisel but the last one arrived and it was a full chisel. Id ordered the same chain so I was expecting the same but to my surprise and a good surprise it happened to be full chisel and it's unlike any I've used. It's nearly as fast as an outta the box c83 chain and after 2 days of cutting I can barely tell the difference in how it performs compared to when I first put it on. I'm not sure why they sent me a full chisel because I'd just redone the same order and was truly expecting another semichisel. Yeah it's the 3/8 .050 84 zentop

My guess is its Temping out, due to it sitting so close to the other machine no air flow. it could have damaged the electronics, Don't poke around under the covers without schematics if your not experienced with electronics stay out of their!

I think your problem is you are taking far to much off the tooth, when using a hand file it would take ages to take of the amount you are grinding. Also there are different bonding of the CBN, you seem to have a resin bonded wheel which collects dirt/oil, hence the the need for a cleaning stone. Electro plated wheels (really the best option for chains) does not have this issue so these wheels do not need a cleaning stone. Also there is no need to have a different thickness CBN wheel, CBN wheels are available in exactly the same size as ALOxide wheels.

I've owned Honda equipment since the early 1970's, and think setting your valve lash is an essential part of regular maintenance. Unless you don't mind letting the valves burn as they slowly get out of spec. And watching a neophyte mechanic monkey with a new piece of machinery always makes me cringe.
