These welding companies are A-holes for charging so much for a pedal that is just a limit switch with a potentiometer. It's about $5 to $10 in parts, then the pedal. They make their plugs different so other pedals don't fit.

Hey bro, just subscribed🤠 I just bought a UC sedan for $500 a couple months ago and that’s what helped me discover your channel trying to find advice online and your channel is the best iv found so far and the fact we both have UC models is a bonus for me. I’m off to binge watch the rest of your videos now dude✌️
@PangazShed25 күн бұрын
That’s awesome to hear! I’ve always loved UC’s, never been ashamed to admit. My first car at 16 was a UC sedan that my grandad bought new when he retired from Holden. I’ve never not had at least one in the fleet. $500 is a bargain in todays money! Enjoy the journey! Happy to help with any advice info

15:07, regarding the doors, they were never that accurate from the factory, there were large tolerances . For example the VB commodore could vary in length by up to 15mm and still be in spec.
@PangazShed27 күн бұрын
15mm, Far out, seems like a lot but doesn’t surprise me. I’m just hoping to do the best I can so there is less to pick on (if there’s such thing!)

Please stop calling it the ignition barrel. It's a switch. The barrel is where the key is inserted. Nice fix though.

What an absolute waste of cable that wiring set up was.. 8 b&s is rated to 74amps, to then be restricted by a 30 amp breaker. The real kicker of the whole job was to then join 8 b&s into a 4mm at best wire right at the end 🤣 That fuel pump is rated to a max of 25 amps 🤦🏻♂️

Where do you buy your Zincannel sheets?
@PangazShed2 ай бұрын
You can buy it from Senturion Steel, Gepps Cross. I haven’t used any though, I get cold rolled mild steel nowadays
@cavzazz272 ай бұрын
@PangazShed oh rightyo...Is Zinnacannel sheets better suited to beginners hence why you suggested them in your list for tackling rust...?
@PangazShed2 ай бұрын
Zincanneal is good for storage, as there is a protective layer preventing rust. I’ve heard it’s a bit stiffer when it comes to shaping and not as malleable compared to cold rolled (probably negligible though). Also the added step of cleaning the protective layer off so the welds stay clean. The benefits for cold rolled swayed me to it and any drawbacks (like flash rusting) is easily overcome using deox/ metal conditioner products

What you see at the end that is Zinc Phosphate from OEM electrocoating. You won't remove that as it takes way more heat to remove it than paint. Zinc Phosphate is junk and all those chemical coatings is an idea from Ford from 100 years ago that everyone does but it actually sucks and does not prevent rust or bind paint any better. What you do is: you blast with water and sand only, no rust preventers (Metal Prep - Zinc Phosphate). You keep it wet until fully done, then you spray the entire car with Wax and Grease remover. Must be non California based. Must be solvent (oil) based (all of them should be). Once sprayed, you blow off the water with air, or/and whip it dry. If you store it in a dry area, it won't rust until you epoxy or prime it. You must prepare for paint though as you prepare normal bare metal. No chemicals, no metal prep. Keep PH at 7.0. In your paint, what you want is Zinc Chromate (will be hard to find, dupont, nason, cromax has it still legal), not Zinc Phosphate. When painted correctly it will outperform anything out there.

Yes only on the following conditions: 1. Use on heavy duty items, not for finesse work 2. Use on items where you can easily manage the flash rust 3. Use a better media that just plain dried kiln sand (will end up getting expensive though) 4. Don’t care about the mess (throughout your workpiece and work area).

Did this repair on my SY Territory. Can be done by just dropping the steering column (4 bolts), although tight for space. Make sure to disconnect the battery or you risk blowing the ignition fuse. I actually believe this is a better option than replacing the inner cylinder. The metal drills easily. A paper clip makes for a decent lug. Greatly appreciate you making the effort to produce the video. The perfect solution to a defective part. Anyone who has experienced this issue should have a crack at this fix, easier than it seems. Great Work Mate!
