This year it's posted no more taking Char/Dolly from the lake. Allegedly due to Pike being Invasive and eating them.

Awesome video guys! I’m taking the boat to Big Lake for the first time right after ice out this year… should be fun! Sounds like your reel needs a drop or two of oil ;)

You might want to read the fishing regs, last time I fished there it's always been single hook only, no treble hooks. Pike never belonged in Big Lake, I believe AK Dept of fish and game are netting finally to get rid of them. They eat everything and the salmon run is practically gone. Wear your life jackets guys.

This is probably the best fishing video I have seen. I like to watch Natives in their home show us how they fish. Very good!

Nice video. I look forward to more of your videos. Question: your larger lure was Mike the Pike. What was the smaller lure that you caught the pike on?

On my way to work in fairbanks for a while. Any spots you would recommend? Thanks! Great vids!

I’m probably too late, but Quartz Lake and Birch Lake are always good. Harding Lake has some big lakers, but you really gotta know where to fish it and what to use on Harding, or it can be slow going. Birch and Quartz are more consistent bites. Lots of trout.

Was a dolly ocean run. The char will have way more color. I catch tons of dollies there

Actually they are Arctic Char. I've caught plenty of sea run dollies in Noatak and various bodies of water in the State. Arctic char are native the Big Lake and do not go to sea. You'll find sea run dollies more common on the Kenai and Kasilof as well as North/Northwest Alaska and pretty much everywhere on the coast of Alaska. Arctic char have more of a red coloration and larger spots compared to Dollies. Also Arctic Char have a more forked tail compared to Dollies

@@AlaskaPirates lol I'm ready for spring! We've been getting quite a bit of snow. Around 0 at night and highs of 20 or so in the day. Old fashioned Alaskan weather! Iditarod this weekend. With the influx of people I would assume by this time next week that little virus circulating the globe will have its show here. Stay where you are!!!!! Looking forward to your videos!
