If you’re having a problem with the key, trying to push that little lever back, just grab a small screwdriver and insert it in the little indentation and pull it back and you will open the key fob battery compartment no problem

"Fits perfectly and...." does something off screen... voila! Fits perfectly and... what? Twist it side to side? Down? Like it's in a lock? Just damaged my fob...

Thanks for your comment. If you watch the video carefully, the level that you are fitting into perfectly only moves in one direction. It is sort of self explanatory. You use the back of the side edge of the mechanical key in and push upwards to move that lever. It only moves in one direction. From right to left when you are looking directly at the key. Sorry it was not clearer for you.

I think the reason why yours was so difficult to open is that you've got the wrong batteries installed. Your video shows CR2032, not the CR2025 that I found in my 2008 SL550 key. The CR2032 is also 3V, but with more capacity and therefore thicker than the CR2025.

Maybe in this video. However, I have noticed that it is difficult even when it has no batteries in it. It is just a very tight key in general.

Great video, clear and simple. Works for my 2009 SL550. Apparently, not all Mercedes key fobs open the same way. Trying of open my daughter's 2014 E350 won't work with this method. It works for the one I have and the guy's 2007 in the video.
