That kind of spring is like a loaded shotgun waiting to go off. I would build a small enclosure around it or place it in pvc pipe for safety.

It's caged internally Captain,, can't go anywhere but shorter. There are a minimum of 5 million garage doors still using this style. It can't be explained any simpler. What angle was the spring to make that call? Then everyone will know how far video was played.

And I have seen just such garage door springs fail though not very often but when they do they go flying with great force. The typical garage door springs are overhead and away from people. All I can say is I wouldn't want to be standing in that trailer with the door down and that spring loaded and have it fail because that would cause some damage to anyone in the trailer. And also why do they sell replacement springs anyway? Because they do break after time. You can have your smart Alec attitude all you want but I just hope for your sake that you are not standing near it when it does fail. Why do you thing they don't use that sort of set up in the first place? And heck no I didn't watch the whole video. As soon as I saw that setup I said awww hell no. If you go thru all that trouble why not just do it the right way... People watching it may try it with an open spring and get killed. I'll stick to the proper setup for my trailer thank you very much... Good Luck

@@markmartin1263 You still don't get _ all springs of this type by law are caged, go to any home builder supply,, and read what's stated On the Box FCO. In fourty years as home & commercial builder, not one has ever failed for a service call. They can over years get weak, where the door gets too heavy a load on the motor, and very few ever check this balance regardless the spring system. The only ones that break more are torsion springs at top of door. But they have steel core shaft running through it. I figured you didn't watch the whole video, because the cargo tracks allowed multiple testing distance points to know the proper tension to balance the door with added weight of flop down added ramp. Every attempt was made for anyone who has never tried _ could easily duplicate it in the safest way possible. Be at least fully informative, and show the video to any certified door rep.. And I'll gladly fund a handsome reward if it fails in anyway from their statement. You also failed to see pulley only moves the spring at half its length, and when the door closes,, it's under zero tension. The door stays open about 6" from fully closed, being the spring was set to not slam the door shut. It's only to balance the weight of door that could injure one severely if it slipped from grip. And sure enough, an idiot did just that on purpose, let it freefall at racing event. See & watch the permanent safety caged cable separate _ going down center of spring. Now where's it going to go in 40 years.

@@PhilscbxAHHH... HERE'S YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF PHILS WISDOM & HIS ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE SAID WISDOM... Although absorbing that wisdom doesn't really work, if you're like the guy you were attempting to educate. AGAIN... If only the other guy could close his mouth, open his ears, & pay attention. My Gramp was right about that one! 😂 *Quick Review:* The other guy: "you need to enclose that spring its too dangerous" Phil: "it is enclosed.." Other guy: "I've seen them come off & they have incredible force" Phil: [Gives very well thought out, detailed & respectful explanation, including examples, as well as citing laws that require the spring to be enclosed..." OTHER GUY: COMPLETELY IGNORES HIS ORIGINAL POINT THAT THE SPRING IS NOT SAFE & USES THE LAW THAT REQUIRES THE SAFETY ENCLOSURE AS EVIDENCE TO HIS ORIGINAL POINT....WOW... 😂😂😂 I'm sorry for spamming your comments Phil... but I have to say, when you're right, you're right! I had to bring attention to this exquisite example that backs up my initial impression of you! You're the kind of guy I'd offer to work for, for free, because the wisdom gained is worth more money can buy!! 😉 OKAY I'LL STOP SPAMMING YOUR COMMENTS NOW, SIR!

It started out pretty funny right from the start, unfortunately not caught in time on video, as he was having issues with this huge sticky bun, right in front of me sitting on the steps, so I argued with him for about 2 minutes that it was mine,, and he scampered back and forth not sure what to do with it, then bolted up the tree. I'll have to go back out to see if it's still up there,, but I was a bit surprised how tactful he was securing it there. Cheers, thanks for stopping by. I should add, it's about 8 degrees above zero as well. So he was about the only critter brave enough for this mission.

seems like a ton of work. I bought a fake a lake for my 88 prostar 190. attaches under the boat where normal water intake port is. $40 bucks. works the same. for those that don't know, it looks like a toilet plunger with water hose fitting. much easier people....much
@Philscbx
@Philscbx 8 жыл бұрын
+accobrajim That's Fine in you have good water pressure. This setup provides zero vacuum leak & positive direct Feed, and eliminates any possibly overheating. If you rev the engine with plunger type, and notice exhaust flappers run dry,, good change starving it. Not possible to out rev this water flow with ready bulk load.

I noticed that you attached the garden hose to the same fitting as the pump inlet house. Can I lay the garden hose over the top of the can and just attach the pump inlet house to the bottom of the can? I've been looking for a way to winterize my 88' MC Tristar 190 and this looks perfect.

Friend Dropped off the SkiBoat to Get Buffed out, Oil change & FixTrailer Brakes. This Work Site doesn't have city water to Run the Engine. Glad it worked out Sir. It was a quick mod, where site well water supply would not be able to keep up beyond idle condition. Going throttle up & watching the actual volume used out of the basket was surprising. It's also comforting - knowing the cooling & pump system is working perfect. Cheers.

Remove hose from pump to raw water - Insert hose from tank to pump intake. - no clamps needed - simply slips on. Do check oil cooler first for any weeds. Thanks - Good Luck

thx for sharing this video. Why the bucket vs connecting to pressured water supply? Do you use this method to winterize as well?
@Philscbx
@Philscbx 11 жыл бұрын
Hey JR - The Waste basket is free to load the engine at any RPM - House supply pressure is not always 60PSI - Long garden hose on low volume supply - highly possibly to collapse hose with raised RPM & starve the engine & pump. Plus no visual means to truly verify the flow condition. Yes - winterized is also possible. Cheers.

One thing to point out to folks looking for the magic button to press to make their furnace work again is that you probably don't want to reset the roll out switch until you fix what caused it to trip in the first place, like, say, debris in the jet (easily removed with canned air). Then reset and check to make sure there's no roll-out when you start the furnace.

My mistake, as I read the description it says horizontal stab on the pilot's left, but I was thinking It didn't fly near there, as it appears the bird drops in front of the #4 nacelle before you can clearly see it again below the aircraft. That bird meant bussiness. Anyways, great footage of two beautiful birds. The C-17 is my favorite cargo ACFT.

That is a mature bald eagle, apparent by the wingspan and even the clarity, where you can see the white head when it is in the frozen "V". Mature eagles (>5yrs) have white head/tail, whereas younger do not (and their colors seems to vary over the years, as well as they appear larger than a mature adult as their feathers are fuller). Had this fella tagged with a F15 or F22 (also stationed at Elmendorf), the outcome could've brought both birds down.
