I love my Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, but the 512MB of RAM can feel extremely limiting sometimes. An Orange Pi seems more in line with my expectations of an SBC, so I'll probably be buying one soon.

This worked great! If you're a beginner to linux like me I'd recommend keeping chatGPT handy to ask it questions. For example, this tutorial breezes by how to save and exit out of the text editors, chatGPT was really helpful for understanding that and a bunch of other things. But after following this video I was able to get HA supervised running on opi zero 3!

loving the price and that it uses a 2280, Linux by default, 780M, dual USB-C, hall effect joysticks. dunno if I dig only a 40W battery (same as Ally) and I dunno if @3:09 no screws on the back is a "feature"? just sounds like it would be a pain to open or risk breaking some plastic tabs or whatnot... good to see Orange Pi pushing the envelope- just learned about them this past week shopping for a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W! (didn't get the Orange Pi at the end of the day...)

I noticed this yes, but apparently this will only cause issues in niche cases. I imagine there is a way to downgrade your docker cgroup version with a bit more wrangling but I'm not sure it's necessary.

I picked one up and have tested Ubuntu and Android... Android, like usual, takes the cake on performance for anything Rockchip, but Ubuntu works really great as a standard desktop. I'd still go Raspberry Pi 5 if you are not a hobbyist.

What’s good for, when you can’t buy one, every time I go to any of the stores of orange pi, no one has one in stock. You should have limit on how many people can buy at a time. If they need more then 3 pieces, then they should contact the company. People buy a bunch then sell them on eBay. Shame, it would have been a good SBC.

Ordered an orange pi 3 zero 4gb, however the Wi-Fi module is defective so only Ethernet works 😢 I opened a refund on AliExpress... I hope they honor it. I want to create content on it.

Those boards are NOT made for everyone, but for tinkerers. If you can't/aren't willing to tinker, then don't bother with it. t. Got a Orange pi zero 3 with the same "zero support" as this board and the performance is better than the rpi 4.
