First question what were the nails that were used on the 1x4 on the perimeter, they seem to have some kind of plastic seal. They are under the two by inch edging.

If I'm going over an old metal roof on a trailer house all I have to do is put down a sweat barrier underlayment and then run some Bridge boards down it like you did put the metal right over it I don't have to use decking right? I could just screw right into the 2x 4S right or 2 by 6 right

I'm switching to a metal roof my mobile home has ridged vents and static box vents. Does a metal roof require me to keep the box vents as I've yet to see any have them or any that added soffits. All seem to just have the ridged vent

Why do you use 1x6s and not 2x4s or 2x6s? Could you have put foam boards between the 1x6s against the metal and under the new metal roof?

They provide the best surface area in order to walk on. 2x4s are slimer. And 2x6 is way to much.

Did you put a 1×6 at the ends of the mobile home like you did at the bottom of the slope?.

Were getting ready to do this to our 1987 single wide, the exact same way you did it in this video, only difference is were using 1x4s instead of 1x6s. My only concern is will putting a new metal roof over the original metal roof cause it to "sweat" and cause damage to the interior from condensation? Thanks

all this seems very straight-forward and logical. my only concern is whether its a good idea to punch holes in the factory roof. I suppose I need to do it right the first time, or perhaps use sealant of some kind?

Looks like you did an excellent job! 👍 I realize this video is now old and you may not be reading comments but if you are, how much would it cost to install a new roof on an old 1985 14 x 60 mobile home with a pitched metal roof? It is actually 14 x 56 when excluding the tongue. Thanks.

How much money did you charge to put the roof on.. I'm doing one basically the same size 80×16... For my Kid's grandma trailer.... She paying me 600.. I'm doing it dirt cheap for her..an making it a family thing I have my boys helping The reason I ask brother how much you charge Incase someone wants me to do one for them I can over bid Because I can't handle this kind of work no more.. I'm guessing over 2000 you charge The trailer I'm doing the wood trusses are up n down 1inch in some places I got the strings out..an trying to fur everything flat.. This is a back breaker

Great video we learned a great deal from it, but would you please show a close-up on how to cut the rake trim to fit also when you were putting the ridge cap on did you overlap or just put them against each other im sure that wasn't just one piece lol?

I'm about to do this on a trailer I just bought, but I would like a 1' overhang. I watched another video doing this and he used 5/8" plywood covered by underlayment over the entire roof instead of strapping. This was also the way he got his overhang. I thought it might be overkill but it definitely won't hurt. What are your thoughts?

Can I do the same on a 1970 mobile home thats 22' x 40' ? It has a white painted metal skin on it that is peeling badly.

No how to on prepping the metal as the helper was doing. No discussion about the screws or nails or spacing. No close ups for good viewing. Kinda like learning brain surgery from 50’ away with a lot of guess work.
