Did we march at that speed it was 65 years ago when I was in the Somerset Light Infantry
@artamblyn8 ай бұрын
Hi Colin, as the narrator says, the Light Infantry marched at 140 paces per minute, which is much faster than the rest of the army, but for display purposes, the LI band and bugles marched at 160. We were very fit in those days, not so much now 😂
@kevinflynn40717 ай бұрын
I don’t think the county regiments marched at that pace.

I think this was 1985? Or 86. There are all four bands on parade and all of the bugle platoons from both regiments. I watched the parade. I had recently transferred from the Corunna Band to the Welsh Guards band. I had to go and watch. I was ( and still are) very proud that I was a member of the Light Division. Thank you so very much for posting this video. For myself, this was the last time the “ Best of the Best” marched together. Even though there were more massed Light Division displays to come after this one, this was the one that truly captured the sound of the Light Division before all the defence cuts really started to kick in.

What was the slow march? It is so moving!!
@johntrlong3 жыл бұрын
@@simonelliott6669 The title of the slow is “Speed your Journey “. It is the chorus of Hebrew slaves from the opera Nabucco written by G. Verdi.
