There's a problem with the Gibbs/ Marine Corp timeline.....in the episode, Gibbs leaves for the Marines in 1976 when he was 18.....in later episodes, he visits Shannon and Kelly's graves in the cemetery...there were three names on the family headstone.... Shannon born 1955 died 1991..... Kelly born 1982 died 1991... Leroy J. Born 1954......if Gibbs joined the Marines after turning 18, he would have joined in 1972 but he said that he was leaving for boot camp at Parris Island and it was the bicentennial of our country's independence which would be 1976.... Gibbs would have been 22 in 1976, not 18..... doesn't matter, one of my favorite shows of all time

All of us who have lost our soulmate can relate to this episode. That one moment of our lives when we met and love flourished taking us to the top of the world only to lose them and be left alone knowing that there will never be another one to take their place, no matter how hard we try to find someone who can fill this void. Cherish the memories and the moments is what all of us must do!

I had to catch my breath when she said "I'm Shannon"....... And I was happy when Leroy Jethro hugged his father... Easily the best episode of the series.

Ogni figlio vorrebbe abbracciare così il proprio padre ed essere abbracciato dai suoi futuri figli così. La scena finale ha in quel sorriso tutta l'amarezza di una vita vissuti nei ricordi. E siamo in tanti a vivere così. Bravissimo in queste scene sempre Gibbs..

NYPD Blue had one of the saddest character arcs with Sipowicz losing loved ones throughout the series but I don't think I've seen a more gut-wrenching back story than Gibbs. Made more so by the fact we are reminded repeatedly especially seasons 4-11 With flashbacks and characters who knew them or knew of them.

I think this is one of the main reasons why I find the recent seasons of NCIS flat in terms of writing and cinematography. The scripts just completely became lackluster compared to the earlier seasons where it was vibrant and compelling. I've watched the previous seasons and also noticed that the fight scenes felt believable to when Kate and Ziva was on the show as agents. Meanwhile when I watched the recent seasons, the filming angles were confusing and the storytelling of the edit cuts dizzying which just gives me an urge to just stop watching. I get that they want to try something different but it just throws me off from the show. They have such a great cast but when the writing can't be inspired by the new additions to write according to their individual strengths, it shows and we see &hear it.

Agree. The newer seasons are nowhere as good. But the thing is as much as the show is loved, there comes a time when it has to end. NCIS without Gibbs, Tony, Ziva ect is just not worth watching IMO
