This is exactly what I would do, but I would pay it in 1p coins! Then walk out the door. Any coin in circulation is legal tender, you paid in full fair and square. They can't refuse the money because it's all there in legal currency 💵

He filmed where he got the coins from. Then he filmed he paid the fine. He filmed the lady refused & obviously didn’t want to count it. Bottom line, coins are money. He did pay his fine w/money.

There is almost certainly a limit on coin payments. He had pre-counted, sealed packets of coins from the bank and deliberately made them harder to accept. He has no proof whatsoever that he actually handed over the correct amount, either.

They didn't and it did, he was also instructed to collect his coins or they would be forfeited he refused so they were forfeited. Effectively tripling his fine by the time he wised up and paid.

He gets a fine and he wants to get back at them. I would make him stay there while I counted every last coin! Can’t get a receipt unless you know it’s the full amount! How about don’t break the law and you won’t get a fine! He’s upset at the people working . They actually have jobs, this guy probably doesn’t work!

While this is totally a jerk move, I would 100% do it out of being angry with an unfair parking fine not by my own mistake. If the mistake was mine halfway through the plan of getting coins I would give up and realize I am being petty for something that is my fault

My best mate's mum took us and like 10 other kids to Mcdonald's for my mate's birthday, he had 2 young twin sisters with learning disabilities, My mate's mum asked prior to the day if she could warm up some milk for the twins they refused, they got a bag full of pennies when she when to pay. I will never forget the sack she took up to the counter. F Mcdonald's super cool day though.

funny video and all. But when this video was made, could the girl at the desk, legally, have declined taking the payment in coins? These days there are laws in australia I believe, in regards to legal tender, that you cant exceed xx amount of dollars if you want to pay with coins.

No one has to accept pennies. The form of payment must be agreeable to both parties. Here is what Cornell University Law School says, “Legal Tender refers to all U.S. coins and currency that issued by the government. U.S. Cash dollars are also a valid form of legal tender. Nonetheless, federal statutes do not require a seller to accept cash as a form of legal tender for payment of goods or services that were rendered.”
