I flew the Tiger Moth at Biggin Hill Airfield in 1960. A super aeroplane. They sold for 800 pounds each, when the Surrey and Kent Flying Club changed over to Pipes aircraft!

Agree - did a few (about 250) hrs in GA/RA a/c here before I got into that Tiger Moth, and there was nothing quite like it!

Just a note on my vid - generally I don't fly VFR on top (especially XC) unless over short distances like this where I can clearly glide to a decent cloud gap. Even if you're legal and can fix position, the obvious reason is the possibility of engine failure en route. Not being able to descend through cloud as a VFR pilot means gliding to a gap - and even then, the cloud base may only leave 1000' or less to find a field and conduct a forced landing. Prefer not to be in that situation.

Nice time of day to fly - gorgeous sunset, and very little traffic! Thanks for sharing

Txs - yes nice on a good day! Have to watch IAS over threshold though, or it’s hard to pull up.
