Thanks for putting these up. Is there any chance you would do one with commentary?

What caused the malfunctions?
@JacobHetherington14 күн бұрын
I was shooting 124 gr ammo at this match at 1080 fps. I use a 9lbs recoil spring and for slower 147 gr ammo I have never had any issues. With the faster ammo the extractor with a brand new factory spring couldn’t hold onto the case to extract it. With the case left in the chamber the next live round would feed into the back of it. To fix it I need to run a heavier recoil spring or get an extra power extractor spring.

Looks like a great match. I'll have to put it on the list for next year.

Do you watch the other GMs shoot the stage before you?
@JacobHetherington7 ай бұрын
It depends on the shooting order inside that squad you are on and who is in the squad. Most of the time I shoot with GMs and we rotate shooting order.

I notice your shooting stance seemed pretty tense, raised shoulders and lowered head. Do you find this helps with your shooting without slowing your transitions or am I not seeing things correctly? Thanks
@JacobHetherington9 ай бұрын
I am pretty relaxed, but do raise my shoulders and my head slightly. I do not think it hurts my transitions at all. Everyone is different and you have to find what works for you.

Do people ever ask why you do not shoot a sig in the AMU?
@JacobHetherington10 ай бұрын
Sometimes people ask that, I explain to them that the soldiers in the USAMU are not required to shoot standard issue Army weapons. They let the competition decide. For example, the Olympic Trap and Skeet soldiers use over and under shotguns

Just point the gun and pull the trigger without moving it. That’s the key! Rinse and repeat. How you get there isn’t the most important.
