Great video John, very much enjoyed it. Shows how peaceful it is up there. I want to do a similar trip on a 16ft fibreglass tiller steer skiff from Albury to Border Cliffs. Not looking to go right to the mouth and cross the lake, do you reckon I’d be fine on a craft like that? Looking to run a little 5hp like you and putt my way down on the go slow. I plan to buy the books, charts, and get a half decent depth sounder. Is there anything else I should know? Can I get all the way on the locks? Or I’d get stuck at Yarrawonga? Cheers

Sounds like a good plan. You will need help to get over the Yarrawonga weir.

@hawk43668 ай бұрын
@@mattholley3642getting fuel is a big problem. I carried 60ltrs at all times . Enough to get me trough the long isolated stretches . I let it run down as I neared Goolwa. Ironicly I had only a few litres left by the time I actually finished I'd estimate I used about 200 litres all up. Maybe more .

@@hawk4366 I thought the same thing, I was going to carry 3 20 litre jerrys on board and 1 10 litre. I thought a trolley might be handy to walk the jerry cans into town wherever I am at the time

Giday John, enjoyed watching your adventure down the Murray. Several mates and I are planning a tinnie trip from Yarrawonga to Wentworth later this year and I was wandering what time frame did it take you to travel that section of the river.

Lots of variables mate. I spoke to one guy who reckons he can do the entire river in 8 days in his speed boat. It's possible I guess

Hi John me and some mates want to go down river from Albury to echuca is it deep enough to take a 6m fiberglass boat down ?
@hawk43662 жыл бұрын
I'd say you'd be OK for the most part with a depth sounder. Also do your homework on the lock conditions as some go down for maintenance.

Thanks for replying I wasn't notified about your reply so just noticed it now as I'm going over all the videos I've watch again and putting together another plan for this trip my mate probably won't be coming now with his fibreglass boat as his misses is 8 weeks pregnant so he will have a little baby . I got a 5m aluminium quintrex so I should be right looks like just me my wife and our 3 year old . Thanks again
